Just in case you do not believe this is the worst offseason ever had by any professional team in any professional sport, I will summarize it for you.

  • Coach Dave Wannstedt retained and signed to a two year extension after promises in the previous offseason of him being fired if the Dolphins hadn't had reached the AFC Championship. The Dolphins didn't even make the playoffs.
  • Offensive Coordinator Norv Turner leaves to become Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders
  • 2nd round draft pick in 2005 traded for current back-up A.J. Feeley. Miss trade opportunities for both Mark Brunell and Drew Henson
  • Jay Fiedler retained with same contract
  • Dan Marino signs on as the new Vice President of the Dolphins, to only resign two weeks later.
  • Adewale Ogunleye refuses to sign Dolphins contract attempts, and threatens to hold-out by sitting the first 10 games of the season.
  • Both John Tait and Damien Woody listen to Miami contract negotiations but decide to sign elsewhere. Rumor has it that John Tait was ready to sign before Dave Wannstedt showed him around Miami... the trashy parts of Miami.
  • Eddie Moore arrested for fighting. He is actually knocked out in this fight and taken to the hospital.
  • Joel Collier resigns as Offensive Coordinator and is replaced by TIGHT ENDS COACH, Chris Foerster.
  • Ricky Williams tests positive for marijuana for the second time since being in the league.
  • Randy McMichael is arrested for allegedly hitting his pregnant wife.
  • Zach Thomas undergoes surgery which could make him miss some early season games.
  • RB Ricky Williams tests positive for marijuana for the the 3rd time, and decides to retire from football.
  • Starting WR David Boston injured in training camp is out for the season.

This is just getting ridiculous. What is next?

You forgot Akins. Maybe more info on who all we missed out on by Ricky's timing. Not to add salt to the wound.
