One tiny mistake (I think) and a quick question

It says Roundtree is signed through 2004. If that were the case, he should not be listed since his contract would have expired. anyone?


Also, is anyone willing to explain the rule about cuts pror to June 1st and cuts after June 1? never really have understood it fully. thanx
 
Roundtree is under contract thru 2005. 2004 was a mistype.

The June 1st thing:

If you cut a player prior to June 1st, all of the remaining previously signing bonus counts towards the upcoming season's cap. If you release him after June 1st, you have the option of splitting the remaining bonus over the next two seasons.

Signing bonus is spread out evenly over the duration of the contract.

So if Muck Football guy signs a 4-year deal with a $4 million signing bonus, it counts $1 million against the cap in each of the four season. If you cut him after Year 2, you're on the hook for $2 million.

But you'd never cut ol' Muck now, would you??
