The Miami Dolphins are the only team in the last 10 years to beat Patriots in December.

They are currently on a 11 game streak in December dating back to the Miami win in 2009. (22-21)
Before that they had a 12 game winning streak in December dating back to the Miami win in 2006. (21-0)
Before that they had two 6 game streaks sandwiched around the Miami win in 2004. (29-28)

The Patriots record in December for the last decade is an incredible 35-3 with the only losses coming to the Dolphins.

It is all on us to break their current streak.

I'm not sure which is more incredible.....the Patriots' December record, or the fact that the Dolphins are the only team that has beaten them.

That is a ridiculous record in December since 2003. I think that the fact we have been able to pull out a couple wins in December speaks volumes but we need to beat them more consistently. Haven't beaten them since that 09 game if I am not mistaken. If you want to reach the top, you have to beat the team thats always there. This week is a huge game for this young team

Wow.. Patriots havent beaten us at home in December according to the chart. Hopefully this trend continues... And not to forget those Dolphin teams that beat the Patriots were just as pathetic as this dolphin team.

Yep, Brady has yet to win in our stadium in December. Lets keep it that way.

Nice... My hopefullness about the chances for a dolphins win just increased from about 1/1,000,000 to 1/750,000.

Saban's defense held Brady under 50% completion and under 100 yards passing. And they turned the ball over 3 times.

Get after Brady, its the only way to beat them.

For whatever it's worth, the Dolphins also beat the Patriots on New Year's Day in 2006. I know it's not a December game, but it's only one day removed.

However, that was also a game where the Patriots had nothing to play for and rested some of their players in the second half, and I believe that was the game where Flutie drop-kicked an extra point. Still, it was pretty sweet for the Dolphins to beat them.

Encouraging for Sunday. But not very encouraging for any chance of winning the AFC East this year.

Think about it. They would have to lose 3 of 5 games when they have only lost 3 in the last decade. The good thing is we play them in 2 of the 5.

Odds have to be about a million to 1 right now. But one win at a time starting with Sunday.

Yep, and usually when the Patriots lose its a very close game. It has been 23 games since anyone has beaten them by more than a TD and that was only by 8 points.
If we win it should be a nailbitter.

Apparently Tom Brady is also aware of this ability for Miami to win at home in December.
“We have to be able to understand their strengths,” Brady told the South Florida Sun Sentinel, “and try to go down and execute against a very good defense, one that is always a challenge for us, especially in Florida in December.”

That's part of why they're so consistent. They don't overlook anyone. No one from NE (with half a brain) is unconcerned for this game.

According to Junc they overlook both Buffalo and Miami.. Which is lauable because after the awesome display of coming to the circus that the Jets put on, I dont think ANY NFL team would take them seriously..

This is a non issue. Brady struggled against the likes of JT and Zach Thomas. This year, with a rookie QB and issues on the back end on defense. And this game might get ugly.

Division games are always tough and you never know... teams know each other too well. If this were a game against a team that the Pats play once every few years, I'd feel better. I never count a division game before it's played. That's true even if you go back to when the Pats sucked and the Dolphins were great. There were always upsets in the division and there will always be upsets in the division.

JT did nothing in 2009 and Zach wasn't even a Dolphin. Henne was in his 1st years as starting QB. We won that day. Research before you post garbage.

Garbage? Does MIA have a rookie QB playing? How about the back end of the defense struggling? Is that garbage?

Here's my point Mr Garbage man, this team isn't the team of JT and Zachary. This team has struggled against the likes of Fitzpatrick in BUF and numb nuts down in TENN. That is garbage.

Luckily I rarely bet on MIA, and won't bet on this game this weekend either. But if I was to bet on this game. I would take the over and NE. Unlike you, I take the beer goggles off before calling my bets in.

As for your quip about Zach not being a Phin in 09, Capt Obvious is in the house people.

4 in a row huh? Also almost doesn't count in anything but horseshoes. Now that is garbage.

In 2009 our pass defense was 24th in the league and we had the 25th scoring defense.
In 2012 our pass defense is 26th in the league but we have the 9th best scoring defense.

If this back end is garbage then what was the backend in 2009 that did defeat the Patriots and Brady?

Anything can happen in any game. Go ahead and bet your money on NE. You can root for them on Sunday also.

Yep, less than 100 yards passing. That has to be one of the best overall games ever played against the brady led patriots.

Cameron Wake has been fantastic in JT's absence, and our run stuffers are better than they ever where in franchise history. Our secondary was never impressive during the Brady era, and the combo of Dansby-Burnette is not a bad LB core either, so the "replacements" of JT and ZT have fit in fairly well and should not be the issue this game. It will, and always will be the secondary during Brady's tenure.

Our secondary in '09 gave up more TDs. Our redzone defense overall this season (including the secondary) has been pretty solid, If I am no mistaken, we're in the top 8 in redzone defense (possibly top 5) with this unit. The only issue, which is a major flaw, is how many chunk yards the secondary gives up which is why they're rated so low.

Redzone D is actually 3rd in the league this year. Yes, we have been giving up yards easily this year, not so many TD's though.

Wake has done a good job. But JT produced. Damn the holds, JT put up the numbers. And JT did it to all comers. Brady included.

But the secondary has been exposed as of late. The back end of this defense with no pressure from the front four has looked terrible lately. Fitzpatrick and Luck among a few others, have shown the world MIA's problems defending the pass.

I still believe this game will get ugly.

I get it. Our pass defense is bad. But it was worse in 2009 and we still beat the Patriots.
I put time an effort into researching different angles that may apply in the game Sunday.
You put down my research with some quick reaction and negativity.

Have some faith in out team. Brady isn't god!
We hung with them both games last year.
