Thought this was a interesting tidbet in the Miami Herald and if true just makes me wonder what the phins braintrust is thinking.

• Though offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie would love to play here, the Dolphins had not called or worked him out as of Tuesday morning, even though he graded out much higher than Marc Colombo in every category last season (McKinnie was 16th among guards, Colombo 76th, according to Pro Football Focus). But Colombo played for this Dolphins staff in Dallas; McKinnie didn’t

I bet Sparano is clamoring for McKinnie, Ohara, and every offensive lineman that comes available. Unfortunately the roster can only carry so many and need to be settled very soon. He will continue the tinkering if you let him. However, he now knows better and hopefully he's learned from the past.

the guy would rather eat like a pig than play a game for millions of dollars. not sure where his head is

He is still better than colombo. I would take him because right tackle is a major need and I want ohara for depth we got the money go get them!!!

Sounds like Bryant McKinnie got so fat that he won't be able to play this year, and his career might be over.

===============
Free agent LT Bryant McKinnie reported to Vikings training camp at 386 pounds before his release.
It's not quite the rumored 400 pounds, but still an unacceptably high number for a player whose playing weight is 335. The National Football Post's Dan Pompei reports McKinnie is "so grossly out of shape that he would endanger his health by suiting up." Unless he suddenly develops an affinity for fitness he's lacked his entire career, the 32-year-old's playing days may be over.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune confirms released LT Bryant McKinnie weighed in "close to 400 pounds" upon arriving at camp.
That's the vibe we picked up late last week when a beat writer noticed McKinnie was considerably bigger than the 360 pounds he played at last season. McKinnie claims he asked for his release to play elsewhere, but also acknowledges he may have to sit out a year and return in 2012. We wouldn't be surprised if the unmotivated former seventh overall pick never suits up again.

Laziest sonofa.... in the league, please keep him as FAR from the Florida heat as possible

damm mckenni needs jenny craig
if he would be willing to go through
a vigorous weight loss program then get him
maybe he was thinking the lockout would last longer and ate himself out of a job

we are soon going to have a team of just o line, what is jake long going to be the qb also, he might be better than henne

That report did not include to him weighing in at 396 pounds not only was his blood pressure thru the roof, his cholesterol was super high, so much so, the team Drs felt he was in danger of literally killing himself if they let him practice. He did not get that way overnight and you do not control High blood pressure and high cholesterol in a few weeks just by taking medication, it does not work that way. FIRST and foremost, the man has to lose weight and the dosage he is probably taking to just get it somewhat none critical is probably massive.

The man, in no way shape or form can lose the amount of weight needed to play in the NFL safely in time for the season, no way. Then his blood pressure and cholesterol problems are not magically going away even when he loses the weight. Add to that, his heart is probably ready to blow up and his blood is as thick as 40weight motor oil. For a young man, he has put himself in a very dangerous position, health wise.

Just give him a three year incentive laden contract with no guaranteed money.

McKinnie would be a huge acquisition to play RT, no pun intended; well maybe a little.

Theres good reason no team in the NFL will touch this guy right now. One of them is they do not want him dropping dead in their practice facility. I will tell you how embarassed the man must be. Whne he first was cut he was telling anyone that listened that HE wanted out of his contract. If he was even close to being worth it, someone would have picked him up.

McKinnie already weighed at least 350 prior to this season so now he must really be a slob. But Colombo blows chunks. The ONLY reason he is in Miami is because he's a former Cowboy!!!

It's weird . . . I kept hearing all these feel good stories about him losing weight by working out with Venus Williams . . . what in the hell happened?
