from Miami herald article::rolleyes:
"Beyond Brown, Antonio Freeman is still available as a free agent and, if Brown signs with Tampa Bay, there is talk that the Buccaneers will release Keenan McCardell. McCardell is holding out from training camp, seeking a better contract."

McCardell isn't David Boston, but he would still be a nice complement to CHambers and he catches the ball really well. Much better option than Tim Brown.

Get Off Mccardells Nuts. Overrated. Overpayed. You Heard Dave. Our Wr Corp Will Just Have To Step Up.

In this case, NFL stand for Not F'ing Likely.

How about this:

Sign Ogun, trade Jay, trade the rights of RW - collect as many draft choices for next year.

Let our OL develop this year along with our young RBs and receivers.

If Boston can come back next year, great. Reload with all the extra draft choices and go from there.

We can have a decent year (not great) with what we have.

Mcardell is my pick just b/c he's proven he can still be a threat unlike Brown who to me is kinda like us getting Carter 2 years ago.

A waste!

I dont think Brown has much left in the tank but if he would come cheaply then that would be the way to go especially with the Trestman connection.Mc Cardell is a good player with upside potential but we cant afford him.

Freeman would be worth a look (Again if he comes cheaply)

How about this:
Tell Ogun to sign the tender, tell Ogun to get into camp, watch Ogun practice, watch Ogun become a team player when his team needs him, tell Ogun he'll get a deal SOMETIME this year...

KEEP Jay since we are SOOO DEEP WITH EXPERIENCE in the offense....

KEEP the rights of Ricky, play hard ball, get as much of the $8M back as possible, HOLD ON to Ricky EVEN LONGER and eventually trade him away OR NOT!

When it appears you have NO choices... you are the closest to having ALL the choices.

Haste makes waste.

Why not?

were like 10 mil. under the cap, how much would he want.
Even with signing OGun we could get him in here.

McCardell being to expensive is a big misconcepion...

McCardell's argument is similar to most normal working class americans. He was brought in to do a job, the job description and responsibility increased and his pay rate stayed the same. He's pissed at the bucks because he signed a contract worth a 3rd wide reciever's money, which he believed he would be. With the debacle of KJ and Jurevicous getting hurt, he became the #1 go to reciever, which is fine for last year. However, Tampa Bay, still want's him to fill that role this year even though JJ is back healthy and they traded for Joey Galloway, but not compensate him for that.

So given McCardell's argument and desire to stay in Florida, it's a strong possiblity that he will come down on his demands, especially since Chambers is the clear cut #1 offensive option on this team. So McCardell will be brought in as a #2 or #3 wide receiver option.

What WR corp? There's a reason some players are paid alot more than others - they're better! If you could realistically "make do" with these 2nd and 3rd string RB's and WR's, why on earth is anybody paying for the top players? RB by committee is ok for this year, but at some point, you have to reload on some talent. Making do with our second and third teamers ain't gonna do when our 1st team struggled last year!
