For several years now, I’ve joined with ProFootballFocus.com to provide you with their grades (along with my insights and opinions) on the previous week’s game a couple of days after that game is played. This year the partnership continues.
Expect PFF’s grades here every week.
This week, we see accolades for Jay Cutler and Jay Ajayi -- the Two Jays in the Miami Dolphins backfield -- along with Ndamukong Suh, Cameron Wake and others. We also see Xavien Howard and Mike Hull didn’t fare so well in coverage and Laremy Tunsil had an inconsistent day as a left on Sunday.
Here are PFF’s grades:

Jordan Phillips with 21 snaps, that's what he is.

Hayes and Phillips are run specialists. LAC gave up on the run and used a lot of Shotgun and 3 WR sets.

Phillips was gassed. Dude liked like we was ready to keel over midway through the 3rd quarter. Every time he came to the sideline he was gassed. He'll never be the player the Dolphins want him to be because of conditioning. If he could be a 35+ plays type of player, he would be a force.

What are you saying? Is he in shape or not? I mean he had a whole off season to be ready.

Will Hayes is probably one of the most underrated players in the NFL. He wears that face paint and plays like a warrior. He also brought us a sack on top of fantastic run stopping. Best FA pickup

Hayes has been a beast. Only 1 game but our run game does look better due to the play of our front four.

Whats sad is that Phillips won his battle but took himself out of the play. He was so focused on beating his guy he didn't even go for the tackle.

Its attack first and react second, so he aced the first responsibility but you're correct on the reaction. Phillips immediately recognized the pulling guard, drove thru the reach block, and flattened out on the LOS towards the frontisde of the play, but yes he should have then shed and been available in case of the cutback.

I am not gonna read to much into these stats atm.

SD has a pretty good offense that has almost everyone healthy.

My most telling stats was not giving up that 1 big play.

Well I can tell you after rewatching the condensed version of the game that Okung erased Branch completely, I mean I don't think the guy had a single hurry ... Okung is pretty good but if Branch is gonna be that ineffective we need to switch it up and give Hayes more of chance to rush the passer
