In today's day and age, Phans want instant results or, there is a problem. FA is now here to transform a team at light speed but, how many top teams or potential playoff teams, are there because of their FA signings? Any other than Denver with a HOF QB?

Then, there is the draft. Normally, you wait three years to see what players can do. No longer, they can be labeled Busts before their first year is even completed.

Our Dolphins are the perfect example. We have a new HC, DC, OC, new zone blocking, new rookie QB, new RT, new RG, new DE, new safeties, new CB, and ever a new kick returner. I included position changes, and could also include all three LB's. We also traded away our best WR and CB.

Yet, many want to pick on these guys giving their all, and having a pretty damn good year.

NOT FAIR in any day or age.

4 years since last playoff appearance, and 12 years since last playoff win. I'd say we've been pretty patient.

Did you read the post? The whole point he's making is that whenever you blow things up and bring in a new system it will then take time to put the personnel in place for that system to work.

True but, not with this team, it's coaches and players.

Yeah, it was done in SF but, it was done with mostly the same players, and not the drastic changes we've made.

I can make a very reasonable point in Cog and Long not fitting, and Martin and Jerry are new starters. That's 4 of 5 on the OL alone. I believe we have done well, better than almost everyone expected, and need to show a bit of patience.

Don't blame these players and coaches for the failures of others. Tannehill is judged based on the failures of other QBs and the success of Marino, people should just let him be judged as Ryan Tannehill.

Dude, we have a rookie qb, and a rookie head coach with a new staff. A new offensive and.defensive philosophy.
we traded a key piece from both the offense and defense.

I think its safe to say we are in the middle of a complete rebuild.

Brother I hear you and I am with you. Tony and Jeff had this all goofed up and positive change takes some time to acquire and mold to your plan.

And the point that I and others continue to make is that this argument is invalid because no NFL coach ever has optimal personnel at every position in their system. Great coaches find a way to modify their system so they can win with the talent that they currently have. Thus, with a coach like Shula, Lombardi, Paul Brownl or Landry the Dolphins would have found a way to make the playoffs this year. After all, if Philbin could have found a way to coach Carpenter so that he would have made two critical missed field goals, we would already have a wild card and wouldn't even be having this conversation. So, I'll repeat what Dolphins 7273 said: 4 years since last playoff appearance, and 12 years since last playoff win. We Dolphins fans have been exceptionally patient, but our patience has now run short.
