Preseason and What It Means In the Big Scheme

In preseason you want to try second string players to make sure you have a back up for a position!

The outcome of the games is not important but evaluating the middle and back end of your roster is important.

With the advent of the joint practices perhaps less so, but it still helps you get a handle on what your depth looks like and seeing rookies out there can be useful as well.

If the not rich enough yet NFL owners did not make money off the games I think they would be gone.
