I want some more clarification before assuming this is a done deal. The tweets by Starks and Volin are opened ended in my opinion.

I'd rather have Starks for one more year anyways rather than trying up a long term deal. I mean it's already expected we are going to have a bunch of high long term deals tied up by the end of this off season.

Starks was informed by his agent that the #Dolphins are leaning to placing the Franchise Tag on him & that is what caused his tweet. Another possibility is the #Dolphins have a contract in place for Starks & are pressuring him to sign the contract or get hit with the franchise tag.

I can live with franchising Starks but to be truthful i think letting him market would let him get to know what teams value him at and then we could sign him. Maybe its me but I dont see any team making him an offer long term for more than franchise tag
