Worth a look as pass catching TE. IMO
The Ravens lost Dennis Pitta. They needed tight end help. If they couldn't utilize Schiancoe to fill a role, it doesn't seem like he has much left to offer a team in Miami's shoes.
Pass . . . over the hill. You either A. Trade a draft pick to get a guy B. Look at the waiver wire for any youngins that got released or C. Roll with the youngins you already have.
I would absolutely bring him in for a workout...
Looking at the comparison between Keller and shaincoe in size and speed, and shaincoe is 2 inches taller they are same weight shaincoe runs a 4.62 40 and Keller was 4.53
He's also 10 years older and hasn't done crap since Favre left, and that includes playing for Tom Brady and Joe Flacco.
Shiancoe ran a 4.62 40 how many years ago? LOL Not now.
He is washed up......PASS
It wouldn't hurt to work him out, but not much there.
True but both The pats and ravens were loaded at TE.
Out of Raven's players released I would pick up Ramone Harewood the OG and Tommy Streeter at WR.
I could see him being worked out, but there just isn't much there. The only positive I see is the familiarity in a West Coast type offense when he played in Minnesota. I just think, whatever positives that a workout would do for him still, in my eyes, not put him over players we have currently on the roster. The fact that he crashed and burned hard w/ Baltimore, a team reeling a bit from losing their #1 TE . . . doesn't speak well of him.
I agree with you but I'm thinking that they saw Dickenson and shaincoe as 2 in the same mold so it was more of a luxury to have shaincoe than a need.
I agree about Harewood. Shiancoe is shot.
His best year was in 2009, hasn't done much since.
hasnt caught a pass since 2011 OMG SIGN HIM
He would make the locker room post game news more interesting...
All the cuts this week are marginal players, either injured, over the hill, or too green to help immediately. We need a TE that can step in and help right away.
There will be a price to be paid. I am very skeptical that we will be that fortunate. There are a lot of teams that need a quality TE, there will be a bidding war.
I think our best bet is to develop our own guy, Sims, and try to grab another one with long term potential. We will not be able to replace Keller..that much is certain.
im sure Ireland reads these forums and is taking your suggestion under consideration. Not!!!!!
If they hadn't come upon Dallas Clark, they might have kept Shiancoe.
Agreed. Cameron Graham recently released by the Rams could be an upgrade.
Make Sims a true TE by keeping him in all the time coming off the LOS. He will be the guy eventually. Clay needs to remain a H-back. It will just take a little more time. thats all.
I would love to see us at least bring him in for a look.
Shiancoe really showed some promise a few years back and then fell off the map. It wouldn't hurt to look at him, but if the Ravens dropped him after already being thin at TE it doesn't really bode well for the guy.
Leonard Pope was cut. Blocker, but 6 feet 8 inches tall.
Sounds like Dan Carpenter was released by the Cardinals....hope he founds a job.
A better option then what we have...
Lol. What year? If the Ravens let him go, don't get too excited.
def bring that guy in, cause ya boy Flacius Clay ain't a playa no mo'
