Reggie Wayne out for the year, injured ACL

Given his age, I think this might be Reggie Wayne's career. It's a shamge, he is a great one...

Nowhere does it say Finley's injury could end his career. He also regained feeling in his extremities later that day.

Nowhere does it say Finley's injury could end his career. He also regained feeling in his extremities later that day.

Thats why it says "initially" couldn't feel his extremities.Who knows maybe this was more of a next stage concussion because he had one earlier in this season?

This type of injury can scare the passion right out of playing the game.

After taking a hit to the head from Browns safety Tashaun Gipson, Packers tight end Jermichael Finley couldn't move at first. Although the Packers reported later that Finley had movement and feeling in his extremities, he spent the night in the ICU with his neck injury, according to ESPN.

ESPN writes that Finley hadn't undergone surgery as of Monday morning and his status is uncertain. But a source told NFL.com that Finley's hospital stay is precautionary and that "he's going to be fine."

Still, it was a scary scenario when tight end Andrew Quarless approached Finley after the play.

"He couldn't move at the time," Quarless said, via ESPN. "So I just told him, just stay here, just lay here, don't move ...

"That look he had in his eyes, that was something that stuck with me. It really hurt me just to see him like that. My brother was out there on the ground."

This is Finley's second major injury of the season. He also sustained a concussion in Week 3 vs. the Bengals.

And more and more we're beginning to understand why Finley's son might not want him to play football anymore.

No timetable for Jermichael Finley

Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley has been told by doctors that he should be released from the hospital within the next 24 hours, a league source told ESPN.

There is no specific timetable for Finley's return to the field, but indications are that he likely will miss at least four to six weeks, sources said.

Jermichael Finley suffered a bruised spinal cord on a hit Sunday from Cleveland's Tashaun Gipson.
Doctors have told Finley that he will not require surgery and that all current indications are that he should eventually be able to resume his NFL career if he so chooses.

Once released from the hospital, Finley might visit more neurosurgeons and specialists in treating spinal injuries. His MRIs and other scans are being sent to doctors for evaluation.

The current diagnosis is that Finley suffered a spinal contusion located in his neck, but that it should heal and that once it does he would be at no more risk for suffering a spinal injury than any other player.

Finley has been told the doctors believe his injury was caused by extreme torque and not by spinal compression, which prevented the spine and discs from being damaged.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy has said there is no timetable for Finley to rejoin the team.
