If you want a second chance, agree to a restructure. Same amount of money but you don't get the full 12 million unless and you show up for ALL games. If you don't show up for any reason, you forfeit entire contract.
 
Timmons has no incentive to restructure. That's the risk we take when we guarantee so much money like we are for these guys.

I wouldn't say no incentive. He made the mistake. Plus, we could sue him for breach of contract, couldn't we? Then we keep him on the non football injury list for two years, we'd get the money back towards the cap and he'd get nothing. He signed a contract which stated he has to play on Sundays. He broke the contract. Legally speaking, that's indisputable.
 
4 game suspension for conduct detrimental which then removes all gaurentees after that point.
 
lmaooo fat chance. Rosenhaus would laugh at the suggestion. Some sports fans are just too obsessive.

NO !!! Not too early IMO. What we know is that law enforcement is not involved, other than to help locate him. So he didn't have a gun to his head, nor was he kidnapped. So there is no reason not to call. Pick up the cell and make a call, it's that simple. I agree with the OP if he wants to stay with the team he has to prove it. Otherwise get as much as you can for him, and get him off the team. Yes we need him but we are not going to the Super Bowl this year so it is more important to make sure Gase instills his culture. Two rules is all he has but they have to be respected.

"...we are NOT going to the Super Bowl". OMG! THE Miami Dolphins are UNDEFEATED & in 1st place. It's happened before. THE Miami Dolphins are the only team with the possibility to achieve this. So until proven otherwise, we are going undefeated AGAIN!!! What could happen?!?!? ;)

It could be some kind of mental breakdown or a family issue, we don't know. These guys are still human beings, have some compassion.
