All the luck to him. Hopefully he can make a full recovery and be back in 2018. Get better, Ryan!

I only hope this kid is done with being hosed by the football gods.

See ya in 2018 Ryan. Adam gase isn't gonna move on this offseason nor are we gonna ask him to take a cut. 2018 though yeah that's make it or break it in Miami health wise.

Absolutely the right move. Hope Ryan gets well and is back on the field this time next year.

Right choice and I hope he comes back strong! Crazy with that draft, all the 1st rounders (Luck, RG3, and Tanne) have had major injury issues and the 4th rounder Wilson gets a SB and should have had 2 =(

I am fan of Tannehill - so take this statement with this in mind.

He may miss 1/2 of next year.

Sorry folks - some guys recover in 8 some in 12 and some in 16 months so just be prepared.

Many in the sports world are spoiled by miraculous recoveries like Adrian Peterson but realistically it can take time to get back to playing....

I might get blasted for this post - but it is what it is -

For his sake and the team's sake I hope he's ready by training camp....

He's not missing next year. He should be 100% by training camp. Guys recover quicker now than before. Wake tore his ACL in November of 2015 and played in week 1 last year. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if Tannehill did some work in the OTA's next spring.

I think he will be ready to go, but at this point, I'm prepped for the worst.

Right now, focused on 2017. Let's salvage this thing, baby.

I think Tannehill will have a good year in 2018 and come back strong. He's got the determination, and I hope he gets the luck. Much greater gain with a good Tannehill than any other option that will be available and I have a feeling, the team will be dying to get him back.

Good, he needs to get it done. Him and Raekwon can race to see who gets back first

He's made of metal, no way Tannehill isn't ready for training camp

I just hope we can revamp the OL and not have a dumpster dive unit out there for him

He won't miss half of next season. Guys go down with ACLs mid season and still come back week 1 of the next. He will be ready.

Come back healed and ready to go. I suspect Gase will use him as an extra QB coach this year to keep him mentally engaged.

Just sucks. This season had so much hope going into it. My hopes of 10-6 are now down to an iffy 9-7.

This might pose a good time for the FO to restructure Tanne though. Show him that he is still their guy but shift money around so we have a more favorable cap next year.

With the advancement in the area, it's a shame he didn't get the surgery to begin with. However, no crying over spilled milk. He made his decision and he can only address the future. If Cutler gets us to the playoff and even wins a playoff game, i'm not sure he's going to get his job back.

All the armchair doctors were right though. As someone who's had similar injuries, rest and rehab is about as intelligent as the anti vaccination crowd. I support tannehill on the field but this bad decision with his body makes me want to move on from after putting up with mediocre production, though mostly not his fault, for five years.

Wrong. If cutler tears it up it will be his choice. Tannehill can certainly lose his job im just not expecting it to go that way.

Depends how we win. If it's on the defense and running game then no. If he's throwing 300 a game then yeah.

Apparently Gase was pretty emphatic that he'll be back in 2018.

Which shouldn't be surprising. He's a quality quarterback and you can't just find those on the street. At the very least, he will have a chance to compete for the starting job in 2018..
