Santa Clara police may stop working 49ers games over Kaepernick

If I came into your store and started claiming that you and all the other employees were ripping off every customer that came into the store and keeping the profits for yourselves, are you suggesting I wouldn't be escorted from the store?

I wouldn't expect them to get paid if they didn't show up.

There are also laws protecting people from working in a hostile work environment. You show up in a stadium of 70,0000 when one of the stars of the league has claimed that 70 or so people working at the stadium (easily identified by their uniforms) are murdering people and getting paid leave for it.

Damn. I didn't even see this post before I posted the same thing. Too funny. So many jokes to be had, but rules are rules. :)

When you sign up to be a police officer aren't you signing up to work in a hostile environment? Nobody made you become a cop. That's a choice they made. And Kap has a point, cops target minorities. The evidence of that is everywhere

Bull****.

Where in the constitution does it say that the police need to baby sit millionaire athletes? Especially ungrateful punks. He has enough money to hire his own.

The NFL can hire their own security. Kaep can personally screen them so no "racist pigs" are hired.

Are you familiar with the 1st Amendment? You don't see how law enforcement, an arm of the government, punishing someone (or thousands of people, in this case) for how someone used their 1st Amendment rights is a bad thing? Oh, and probably a very costly error for all involved, except Kaep, who it would only bring more attention to.

Sorry if the truth hurts. If Kaep had any balls, he'd refuse the escort by the police.

It is beyond me how one of the cops doesn't punch him in the face. Guy is a dick (no balls, just a dick).

Fine, don't boycott the game, simply refuse to escort the scumbag. Okay?

BTW, the 1st amendment protects your right to say things. It doesn't shield you from repercussions of saying stupid things.

If, in the current environment of police shootings all over the country, you cannot see the incendiary nature of Kaep's comments, I at a loss.

Did the KKK called police departments racist? Must have missed that.

If Kaep had made disparaging statements about leaders of the Muslim faith not taking a hard enough stance on radical Islam (and holding some responsibility for terrorism), the NFL would have jumped through its own asshole to punish him and back away from the statements.

So, if you are going to pick and choose who you are going to protect based on what they say, you are going with the KKK?

If they can't do the job the are sworn to do and uphold the law, including the ones they don't like, then they need to find new jobs. I suggest mall security, where they are under no such obligation.

It DOES shield you from repercussions from the government. You know, like law enforcement.

And sure, opt not to protect him. Then hand in your badge and weapon and start searching Indeed.com for a job better suited for a 5 year old ability to handle criticism. Maybe a bouncer.

I guess you were under the impression that I cared to discuss this with you. You of all people; the same guy who's posts are full of strange tantrums....about Ryan Tannehill. I'm good. Move along, sport.

Being called murders is criticism? He shouldn't want their protection. Or perhaps this is all bull**** clickbait by a guy trying to avoid irrelevance.

I'm sure you don't want to discuss it. Not surprised.

What is your fascination with the KKK?

I clearly use them as an example of a group of individuals exercising their 1st Amendment rights under the protection of law enforcement, who rightfully protect those rights, no matter how despicably they are used. I can easily swap in Westboro Baptist Church, if you like.

I ask again, did they incite violence against the police? If they did, my opinion would be the same.

Kaep never incited violence against police. That would not be covered under the 1st Amendment. You think that charge would fly? Of course you don't. It is interesting that you feel the KKK is more worthy of police protection than Kaep though...

Did you miss what happened in Dallas? Your lack of respect for the police is interesting.

I never mentioned the KKK. Your attempts to incite a reaction aren't working.

I'm starting to think you don't know what "incite" means. I've explained the KKK comparison in great detail. Can't help you if you still can't grasp it. Pretty simple stuff, really.

Well, now, I'm sure you don't know what 'incite' means:

to stir, encourage, or urge on; stimulate or prompt to action

Synonyms
instigate, provoke, goad, spur, arouse, exhort; fire; induce. Incite, rouse, provoke, inflame are verbs meaning to goad or inspire an individual or a group to take some action or to express some feeling. Incite and rouse are similar in that, although they can imply in some contexts abrasive or inflammatory arousal of violent or uncontrolled behavior, neither necessarily does so. Incite means simply to induce activity, of whatever kind: incited to greater effort by encouragement; incited to riot.

I wasn't implying that Kaep incited the Dallas shootings. I am concerned that his ridiculous comments may incite another. Pretty simple stuff, really.

What I don't understand about the repeated KKK references is what the hell it has to do with me and why you would imply I have any affinity to the KKK.

The only thing that will "incite" violence is continued police brutality, police shootings of unarmed African Americans, and the outright refusal by good cops to do anything about the bad. You're going to have to explain how Kaep exercising his 1st Amendment rights by not standing for the National Anthem and stating that changes have to be made to correct the systemic racism in law enforcement is more likely to "incite" violence than that. Your definition of "incite" in regards to Kaep wouldn't hold water in any court.

Your reading comprehension in regards to the KKK comments is worrisome.
