Senior Bowl

There isn't much at tackle this year, but to me two guys stood out for solid play:
Senior bowl: Trevor Penning UNI , 78.6" 330 lbs, 34.75" arms, strength and nastiness is his calling card. He is a tweener, but solid all around.
NFLPA: Jalen McKenzie, USC 76.6" 307 lbs, 34.3" arms, solid and athletic.
That's about it. We'll see how it shakes out at the combine.

Johnson from Boston College is definitely a target at 29. He's a guard, but showed some versatility playing center during the Senior Bowl and the week leading up to the game. Possibly the best run blocker at the Senior Bowl.

Going to probably have to sign an OT in free agency. I don't think Miami will get two in FA's. Eichenberg will likely switch to RT.

Grier needs to start drafting well at tackles. I agree that he needs to sign tackles, especially since this is not a good year to draft one, but you can find a solid tackle in the draft and he needs to start doing that.

Zion is borderline to me. He is just over 6'-2.5", so borderline too short for my taste, and his arms are 33.9" which is tackle lenght, which is just too long for my taste. Plus he is not dominant. He is not like Shaq Mason coming out for example so that we can say, whatever, it works for him. He is just another guard.
I would lean on the side of 6-3 to 6-5 guards. Before I would consider drafting Zion Johnson, I would consider the below:
Senior bowl: Ed Ingram LSU, 6-3 317 33.4
Shrine game: Austin Deculus LSU, 6-5 325 33.8
Shrine game: Myron Cunningham, ARK, 77 323 33.8

There are exceptions, but I only get excited about Juniors and RSO's...

Running backs with good measurements:

Dameon Pierce, UF, measured at 5-9 220, HT/WT 3.19, and impressed running. Fkn A+. Now, the problem is his production. He had about 100 attempts each of the last two years. That is not good. Last year he had 13 TD but generally he's been under 5 TD a season. That's not good. Average 5.7 last season, and 4.7 the season before.
Day 3 for me. We will see how he jumps at combine and prodays.

Julius Chestnut, Sacred Heart, 5-11 226, HT/WT 3.18. A+. Did not have good production at Sacred Heart tho. UDFA perhaps.
2021: 91 ATT, 6.0 AVG, 3 TD
2020: 124 ATT, 69 AVG, 9 TD

Vavae Malepeai, USC, great frame as well, 5-10 216, HT/WT 3.09. He impressed at the NFLPA bowl. His production at USC sucked. UDFA.

Brian Robinson, ALA, 6'-1.5" 226lbs, HT/WT 3.07. Impressed at senior bowl. Had an impressive senior season at Bama, carried the ball 274 times and scored 14 TDs. Average is not great at 5.0. Late day 2, mediocre AVG and only one season of production.

Honorable mentions:
Max Borghi, WSU, 5'-9" 211, HT/WT 3.06. Decent senior season, otherwise mediocre production.
2021: 160 attempts, 5.5 average, 12 TD. Late day 3.
