he was just fired by the Giants. He is a NY guy which Ross loves. He has a much better history of success in the draft than Tannenbaum....

Won some rings with a great QB, but the Gaints roster has has deep issues for many years now. So not a name that would interest me.

But good god, a huge upgrade over Tannenbaum or Grier

That would be equivalent to upgrading from a Yugo to a Pinto

But while we're at it, talking about dead guys walking, I wouldn't mind OC Hue Jackson taking over the playcalling from Gase.

The best thing I have read all day - get the play calling out of Gase's hands and give it to someone that is more creative.

Please tell me about Jerry Reese. At one point, he was exec of the year right? Where did it go wrong? I know last year they spent like $250M in guaranteed salaries or something. But for a time, he was decent.

    What went wrong?

He fired Coughlin and got desperate with huge FA signings.

    1. He fired Coughlin for not getting it done but yet hired his new head coach from within that staff that wasn't getting it done.

    2. He spent money last offseason "like a boss" like Ireland but it seemed to work on the defensive side of things, problem is, he spent like a boss and this previous offseason/season he couldn't do jack crap to improve the offensive side of the ball because of it.

    3. The handling of their previous Kicker's situation with being a tool and verbally assaulting and degrading his wife and domestic abuse probably played a part in it.

Two magical Super Bowl runs with a hot QB and a defensive front that could put Brady on his *** is what happened. That makes a team/fanbase overlook a lot of crap play . . . and the Giants have been more crap than good over the years.

No hes not decent. Odell saved his job for a few seasons. He couldn't get a decent Oline or running game to help Eli out for a few years now.

Not really a upgrade he hasn't gotten the giants a running back & oline in how many years?

at least ours is somewhat serviceable in those areas imo.

I don't see Tannenbaum being fired this year. I don't even think it's even remotely being considered. he's only marginally more on the "hot seat" than Gase, who has a 100% chance of being here next year. NO major overhaul will be made based on 1 good and then 1 bad season. Tannenbaum - and obviously Gase - will BOTH be given at least one more year.

Pretty much this. I think if we had to do it over we would of passed on Cutler and just took our lumps and kept that cap . . . but both Gase, Tannenbaum . . . and even Ross like the roster and understand a harsh overreaction to a tough season shouldn't mean blowing it up.

That said, they gotta draft well and they need to get nasty on this offensive line. And send them all to boot camp to stop with the stupidness on the field.

Brian Gaine, Scott Pioli, or Eric DeCosta are my picks.
But Stephen Ross will go with Carl Peterson because nepotism rules over resume.

I live in NJ and Reese lives in my hometown- I know quite a bit about how much this guy sucks. I hope Ross would stay FAR away.

The only guy that can fire Tannenbaum is Ross and unless Harbaugh tells him to do it it's not happening.

The Browns would be dumb to give Jackson a dumpsterfire and can him after 2 seasons, but I would welcome him in Miami. I'd say make him the head coach.

The one thing Gase had was supposedly being an offensive genius. He isn't. He isn't a teacher, he's not a schemer, his teams aren't ever prepared as they always start slow, he's not a motivator, he doesn't manage the game with any brilliance, he isn't a talent extractor....so the one thing he had isn't working out for him. Why take that away expecting him to get better in any other area?

You have to wonder how Ross views the team. Can he see what changes need to be made or is he more of a fan watching the game with aqua and orange colored glasses?

In my opinion, he isn't even thinking about a change at this point. Look how patient he was with Joe Philibin when the entire fan base knew he wasn't the answer. Maybe if the team is bad again next year there would be changes, but I think it would start with the head coach before the GM. Just my opinion.

LOL, going for the car analogy, even the worst ones these days are made so much better and reliable.. so I picked arguably the worst car ever made and the most dangerous. Maybe I should have compared the trade up from trichinosis to botulism, ya think? Either way, we don't need no more bozos in the front office..matter of face we need to ****can the 2 dregs we already have instead.

Why would we hire another BUM from a **** franchise. What in the ****ing hell would that accomplish over the current BUM that we have. **** Jerry and TannenBUM, both need to be run out of the NFL.

Sounds good let’s get rid of a guy with 15 wins in a season and 2/3 for a guy with one win.
