It is a shame for us that he didn't... :(

I bet he is still a closet Jets fan. That would explain some things.

We're our owner's fallback plan after the new york jets... everyone should think about that for a moment.

Why would a lifelong Dolphins fan want to own the jests?

Maybe because he couldn't buy the Fins, ya think? How many buildings do you think he's purchased in how many cities that he wouldn't be caught dead actually living in?

Mark Cuban grew up in Pittsburgh, lives in Dallas, obviously. He's made several attempts to purchase the Chicago Cubs. What are the odds he ever rooted for them?

I realize right now it would be convenient to picture him as a carpetbagging jest fan, but his biographical profile, statements to the contrary and attempt to buy into the Fins 9 years before he attempted to purchase the jets logically argue otherwise.

Weak analogy. Sports teams don't make sense as dispassionate investments. He bought the Dolphins because he's supposedly such a huge fan. The jests aren't just any other team, but a rival. If Cuban was a Yankees fan all his life he wouldn't have bought the Red Sox.

Weak analogy back atcha. George Steinbrenner is from Cleveland - no doubt growing up hating the Yankees. We all know how that turned out, don't we? You're just so intent on branding Ross as a turncoat that you're ignoring facts and logic. In 1990 as he was amassing his fortune, mostly in NYC, he first tried to buy into the Fins, not the Jets. What does that tell you? In 99, if you want to buy a team as a license to print money, and The Garbageman isn't selling, you try to buy what you can. Further, he graduated from a Miami H.S, growing up largely in So FL. Even applying your "logic" what are the odds that a native SoFloridian, particularly during the Fins glory days is gonna root for an outside team, especially the jets??

Hey you're a good poster and like the rest of us are emotional right now, so you'll believe what you want despite a host of irrefutable facts that argue otherwise. That's fine if it makes you feel better. Like the rest of us, you deserve it about now.
