Gase doesn't work the cap.
True, but TBaum wouldn't restructure Tanny without Gase's approval. This is not an exclusive TBaum move.
Gase doesn't work the cap.
Seems to indicate no QB in the first round. It would be real dick to have Tannehill restructure and then draft his replacement.
Don't really get the need for these restructures. There's not enough talent out there to be big spending in free agency this year. Guess were going to plug up with the roster with more mid level garbage.
Does anyone have at least a guestimate of where we currently sit with the subtractions, restructures, and additions (Wilson, Amendola, Quinn)?
Every team does but most don't have to mortgage the future to get there. If you think this new found money is for "just in case money", you better brace yourself. But Miami needs money for resignings, rookies, and some of the standard "just in case" money
My guess with all the current moves they are between 12 and 13 million under the cap right now. Won't know for sure until we see the exact #s for Amendola & Wilson.
Then we get a bunch more June 1 from the Suh cut, correct?

Dolphins cut Julius Thomas, save $6.6 million
Dolphins released TE Julius Thomas.
The no-brainer move saves $6.6 million against the cap. Acquired from the Jaguars last February, 29-year-old Thomas simply couldn't run in 2017. A career of lower-body injuries have sapped his explosiveness. He turns 30 in June and is going to have a hard time drumming up interest on the open market. The Dolphins have little to work with at tight end on their 90-man roster.
Ozzy rules!!
Why he's under contract.
@RapSheet: For #Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill, instead of a $17.475M base, he gets a $16.7M Signing Bonus and the base went to a minimum. All upfront… which is nice.
