Francona has had enough of his eroding Boston experience, a ­major-league source said, and will ask the club not to exercise the option on his contract.

Good riddance. The man was a complete joke. Thank god he is gone. He didn't get the nickname "Francoma" for a reason. He had no clue what was going on at times. I hope Bobby Valentire or Dave Martinez is hired as thier new manager.
 
I think embarrasment is the main reason he is stepping down
