Thank you mods for closing "the depths". That room got out of hand with the profane, sophomoric posts, it became impossible for a fan of an opposing team to post any football related thoughts whatsoever. The room is gone, and now perhaps some of the lesser intelligent regulars there will vanish as well after they are done:boohoo:

You do know there is a forum for other teams fans to post right?

I guess only threads supportive of you decision, in this case written by one of the most sophmoric posters that spammed the Depths, gets to survive. More thoughtful, but opposing views, get moved. Got it.

The thread was merged into an existing thread.

We are not going to discuss allowing the Depths to jeopardize our relationship with our advertisers and the public. That "Depths" is gone forever.

We are considering a new smack forum in which the TOS would have to be followed.

Coming from someone that brags about having several usernames here, at BroncoMania (where you were banned repeatedly), Steeler Fever, the Colts board where you made fun of the passing of Tony Dungy's son, etc, your post is worthless.

What happened to the depths of the sea??

Just curious but where is the smack forum at??

yeah for some reason it was removed... so now we got a Bills/Jets/Pats fan infestation in the other forums... its pandemonium!

i do not pretend to be a laywer (only on saturday nights at the club)... but i dont see how the board can get sued over the postings in a smack forum... a simple disclaimer would be all thats needed to protect the board from the actions of its members...

CBS sportsline has a large community posting board type thing and you read all kind of inappropriate comments, about a players homosexuality, about other posters themselves... etc... heres a post calling all Eskimos inbreds

Eskimos suffer from crippling inbreeding. I think that explains most of it
and i think CBS is in a much larger public eye than this board... yet they dont seem to have any problems...

how about a suggestion, make the depths a protected board so its not visible to guests and non-registered people, so it wont show up in search engines and things of that nature... you can also make it a forum you need to access by filling out some sort of release/application stating anything you say or post is of your own accord and not associated with finheaven who will not be held liable by anything read or posted in the forum, blah blah, etc...

when people agree to this specific application thing they gain access to the forum...

there has to be a reasonable way to allow that board to stick around... im just trying to throw out suggestions

I'm an Administrator for a hockey forum - the one in my signature - one time there was a thread about a young prospect from California and someone asked in his post was it true his mother use to be a porn star. Well the husband of that wife happen to be viewing the thread and saw the kid's post.

Now we deleted it but that wasn't enough, he got a attorney and wanted to sue us, I had to call him and personally apologize and pretty much get on my knees.

The short of it is he decided not to follow through with his law suit, but it shows how dangerous it is to have threads with damning material that could be considered libel.

Good ideas.

I'm really going to miss the depths, does this mean Bills fans can't troll the boards here anymore?:tantrum:

Guys, the Depths are gone and so are personal attacks. Comment only on the post. Please keep personal remarks to yourself.
