Who do you feel is the most underrated Dolphin player on our squad?
I think Brandon Fields is a little underrated. He's not Shane Lechler, but he's a reliable punter.
Camarillo or Langford. Camarillo has great hands and heart. Langford owns his side of the line. You don't hear much about him...but you don't hear any complaints either. He just does his job...and is pretty damn good at it.
IMO Polite is the most underrated player.. and probably cobbs special team ability
Charlie Anderson and Randy Starks. Tedd Ginn as well! J/K
Polite or Langford, although I think Polite's time is coming soon.
Jason Taylor. Dolphins cancel meetings with him and would rather resign a player suspended the first half of the season than an emotional leader and Mentor for anybody they bring into the draft. Certain dolfans forget how much he has meant to this organization, but hey, its business right?
before he got hurt, id say patrick cobbs. randy starks was just a beast though, but dont think the rest of the afc east doesnt know it. if the players voted for the pro bowl starks would be a pro bowler.
Polite, Langford, And Feilds
i think culver is way underated. polite, starks aswell
you havent seen cobbs play post injury
Cam wake. Yeah I said it.
If you mean guys who we fans underrate, I'd say Vernon Carey. He's never injured and has played like a top 5 RT. Just a solid, reliable player that never gets spoken of as highly as he should.
Among fans of other teams and the media, I'd say Randy Starks. It's impossible for 3-4 DEs to ever get their due. Guys like Aaron Smith on the Steelers have been the cornerstones of their team's front seven for years, but because they don't get stats, they never get recognized.
100 percent Randy Starks, guy gets no recognition.
Yermiah Bell. Wait till we have a good free saftey lined up with him. He is a probowl type player.
damn! beat me to it!
I don't think that Polite or Randy Starks are underrated among Dolphin fans. Perhaps in the league, yes but not among our community. I think that among us, the player who people forget is Nate Garner. He's a great, versatile, quick lineman. He's a better player in my opinion than Donald Thomas who gets overhyped and Justin Smiley who's been overrated and overpaid.
I'd say Camarillo. I think with Marshall he will be a solid #2/3 backup guy. Also Dan Carpenter. He got into the probowl (yea i know scifers backedout) but he is a very good Kicker and can get better.
Polite and Wake, especially Polite, who is an obvious all pro, but gets little recognition.
Wake was the best situational pass rusher in the NFL last year by far, and I don't think most of the pundits even realize it.
Good thread. I would agree with the above poster, Veron Carey. I agree he is a top 5 RT who only get mentioned if he misses a block. The other player I would mention is not so much underrated as he is a player with great potential that never gets mentioned, and that is Chris Clemons. He has a chance to be a top 10 saftey if he can better understand the defense. With Nolan coming in and putting in a more instictive defense where players don't have to think as much as just react, I think Clemons can really excell. JMO
I Think im gonna throw a changeup.
Fans: Charlie Anderson
Most people just completely disregard him as if he isn't on the team, but in the bucs game, the only game he saw significant snaps, I think it was 2 sacks, 2 ff.
Public: Starks, Polite, Bess, Cobbs, Cam, Fields, Carpenter, Bell, S. Smith
agree. Polite will have his time in the spotlight soon i feel. Langford is underrated as is Carey. i think in a way Ronnie is underrated to other NFL fans. Other teams and players know he is a top back when HEALTHY, but because he is hurt once a season, he doesn't get the attention. If he is healthy during the final stretch of the season he will get his national attention. IMO he has what it takes to be in the top tier of RBs in the league, again, when HEALTHY
under rated player
Polite and Starks get my vote.
I would have to go with Cam. He plays like there is no tomorrow and he also deserves recognition for bailing us out of a defeated season. He will forever be a part of Dolphin lore for that.
Brandon Fields w/out a doubt...was rated as high as 2nd in punting last year in the AFC at one point...truth be told,we probably would have lost around 2 games without him...
Charlie Anderson isn't unverrated IMO.I think he's right where he whould be.The Bucs game was his one and only good game a a Phin.He sisnt do anything in '08,and in '09,he didnt take advantage of starting for Joey Porter at all.He solidified himself as a back-up,if anything.
im glad someone else here hasn't lost their mind or their memory. scale Wake's performance to a full season of snaps and its ridiculous.
It's probably Pat White. He can't be as bad as he looked last year, or the consensus rating around here.
One completion and we'll be surprised. That's got to be the definition of underrated.
