players can legally talks to agents but not players? I dont see how this changes anything to be honest, they are all doing it anyway.

rumors and real pricing can begin, and this pretty much means, mike wallace will have his club picked out day one barring any surprise bids.

It seems to me that it will be like the NBA b/c for example Ray Allen agreed to a few days before he was allowed sign it & make it official with the Heat. I'm hoping most of the #'s get done on the weekend so come Tuesday we are ready for the signings!

This actually helps Miami big time. If we are out on bid for Wallace we can go after Jennings or cook. This gives Ireland the upper hand because he is conservative by nature so this will allow him to reach a back up plan before free agency starts.. If need be

The great thing is we will find out what teams are serious about the free agents we all covet.

When this period actually begins hasn't been real clear depending on who you listen to. I read one place that it starts at midnight Saturday night(so really Sunday morning), the Palm Beach post just wrote it is 4:00PM on Saturday and I heard Drew Rosenhaus on WQAM saying it starts Friday night at midnight(really Saturday morning).

Sean Smith - DB - Dolphins
ESPN's Adam Schefter estimated on NFL32 that Sean Smith will command in the range of $7 million to $7.5 million annually in free agency.
Per Schefter, Smith is widely viewed around the league as the top cornerback available. We prefer Aqib Talib, and perhaps teams would if he were cleaner off the field. Smith, who played college ball at Utah, is squeaky clean and only 25 years old. Look for the Chiefs, Eagles, Buccaneers, and perhaps Jaguars to contact Smith when the negotiating period opens Friday at midnight.
