Ever since Ryan Tannehill got drafted in 2012, he's easily been the most polarized Dolphins player on Finheaven. Tannehill threads start and never stop until they are sent to the locker, where threads go to die and anything goes. Minds unchanged, a new Tannehill thread is born and so it goes.

These are a release valve for posters on the very end of each side, they are headache inducing for people sitting on the fence and are straight up confusing for newbies...

They also take no prisoners as countless posters got ban hammered in the cross fire. There are 3 major tribes taking part in the mess.

The Fanboys

To the fanboys, Tannehill does no wrong. Sacks are always the OL's fault, INTs are either GREAT defensive plays or WR's incompetence or both. When the Fins win, it was because of Tannehill, when they lose, it's either the defense, the OL, the coaching, the scheme, the WRs... anybody but him...

The Haters

The haters simply don't like Tannehill, they've had enough and want him gone. Although they are out numbered on finheaven, they make up for it by being loud. While @Vaark made a poll that eventually demonstrated that Haters were actually outnumbered, it often feels as if its more of a 50/50 proposition.

And finally you've got the guys sitting in the middle, I call them the Refs

The refs are often found in the first few pages, their conversations are calm and measured. They'll act as a calming influence between the Fanboys and the the haters for awhile. While they might tilt one way or another when it comes to Tannehill, they very rarely go far off base. Instead they'll disapear one after another as the thread moves along, realizing that trying to knock some sense into either side is a losing proposition.

After researching and evaluating countless Tannehill threads, we have found that they all share a similar path of destruction. Its almost as if they follow a script... Not to surprising when we have already established that neither extreme side ever change their mind and the posters in between just give up after 3-4 pages of insanity in threads that commonly go over 10 pages...

Here's how it looks in real time...

Tannehill threads usually, but not always, start with an article either praising, or bashing Ryan Tannehill...

In our example, the thread will start with a blogger making negative comments about Tannehill....

The first few posts of a Tannehill are usually fine, it takes a bit for the extremes to smell blood... Everything is going fine until either a Fanboy or a Hater enters the room...

Then all hell just breaks loose! everyone's fighting a different fight, cant keep up with the discussion...

During this time, the Refs have their hands full, they try their best to knock some sense into the fighters...

But at some point...

A message board ref isnt a pying job so they give up and leave.

Chaos ensues...

The haters are going at it...

The fanboys are losing it...

This is about where the commisionner(the mods) comes in and pinks people left and right and the thread moves to the locker...

So this... Newbies, is what you get yourself into when you post in a tannehill thread... Dont feel lost and dont take it personally, it's not your fault...

This pretty much sums up a Tannehill thread...

Here are some quick recommendations, and feel free to add more in this thread...

    • Dont be the instigator, you will get pinked if you make it a habit
    • If anything, try and be as close to a ref as you can, it's better for your emotionnal health and pretty much for everyone involved.
    • Don't take **** personally, DO NOT PM other members to make threats
    • And finally, this one is just a general suggestion, if all else fails, why dont we just make a super Tannehill megathread? There's probably a reason for this but hey! was worth the try....
