Hi All, I was just reviewing the Jets sorry roster situation. If you look at our SKILL position players I can't help but lick my lips thinking how much we are going to beat the Jets.

I know it is early yet but I am really, really looking forward to this

I certainly hope you are right OP. We swept them and the Bills this past season. It'd be awesome if we swept the AFC East this upcoming season and win our division enroute to the playoffs.

    A bit premature?
Of course we look good on paper, in comparison. NE is the team we need to start beating regularly.

Jets look terrible on paper, at least offensively.

That said, you always throw records out the window against New York. I hope that Miami sweeps, but I'm not expecting easy wins. Nothing seems to come easy against the Jets.

This is the NFL. It is always dangerous to underestimate anybody. Remember when we played Houston and we were supposed to win by 20+pts???

They're division rivals for a reason. Personally, I think we sweep them easily, but division games you just never know. I love the fact they kept bowels though.

Winning in the division is the key to success in the NFL. Without it, teams face a steep uphill climb to make the playoffs. This is one of those years where we _should_ win at least 4 games in the division. But good teams actually do it, and pretender mediocre teams tend to get upset. Shula dominated the division, which fueled all those AFC East division winning teams. We went a decade without losing to the Bills. There were long stretches of years where we swept the Patriots. Ditto for the Jets. Even when we had the Colts in the division we beat them regularly too.

Winning the winnable games is the key to making the playoffs. Given our tough schedule this year ... getting 4 or more wins inside the division is key.

Don't be the jinx, please. Any given Sunday applies double to divisional games. I never in a million years thought Geno Smith would pass for over 300 yards, 3 TDs, and have a freaking 158.3 rating against us ... had to see that one to believe it. They look terrible on paper but it could all come together for one magical game against us ... like it did a few years back with Geno.

Don't say that. We were supposed to murder the Browns last year and it took missed FG after missed FG by them to squeak out an OT win. Oh and a few years back when we played the winless Bucs, how'd that turn out?

Like all the times in the 80's and 90's where we where better on paper. Then we would lose to them, there's a reason why ower head to head record with them is almost even.

Kinda silly to make predictions like that. Better to act humble and enjoy the thrashing than to be humbled by a thrashing.

Never underestimate a division rival -- especially in the NFL, and especially in the AFC East. Ask BB and the Pats team that is an absolute dynasty.

If the Dolphins don't sweep them, they've failed. Division game or not, the Jets are a vastly inferior team. They have no QB-- zero!

I'd bet my house that the Patriots don't lose either of their games against the Jets, and those are division games for them too.

While I am all for beating the Jets and all teams in the division, I won't go all macho just yet. Yeah the owner and front office are pretty screaming and spelling out tanking but you need to look at other factors, players are going to play for Todd B. and his job, that is always good for a win or two and in the AFC East you know those games are going to be in the trenches, biggest thing overlooking is that yes Jets the franchise is tanking or getting as close as possible to it but JETS the players have other goals... The average NFL career is 3-4 years, do you think guys will just out and go "welp let's just let them bully us on the field and get this over with" for a full season and waste a year of their career when a good % of the roster will be turned over/released/etc in the 3-4 year span?

I think Bowles' job is safe regardless of this year's results for the Jets. He is a good coach and the organization would be wise to retain him in lieu of what seems in their efforts to claim a low draft pick.

Haha. Yes, of course. Nice catch.

I guess I might be able to spin it as a low "numbered" draft pick, the lowest possible if you will, but you are correct. LOL

Gang green Jets forum is going to be comedy gold this year. Say what you want, but those schlubs will never be accused of being PC, lol...ever!

Unrepentant and verbally syphiltic, they say things on that forum that would make Artie Lange blush.

That's my reward, that game will probably be unwatchable.

they also have no number 1 corner really, bowles likes to blitz with his safeties, but that will backfire pretty quick if his CB´s can´t cover man to man, i like claiborne but thats all they got at CB, this is what they will miss the most......cover guys

Meh a lot of fans have already turned on him. Will be hard to ignore (or reverse) that after another season, especially if it is even worse.

Could even make the argument for starting the rebuild (rather than clear out) with a fresh coach with no negative history

I wish I could go up to the game in NY like I normally do, but it's my wife's birthday. Last year's game was amazing; they didn't expect Matt Moore to throw 5 TDs against their sorry asses.

Who cares about the Jets? They're not proper rivals. They're an even sorrier team than we've been the past decade. For me a game against the Jets is a chore to get past before we can play a real football team again. Even if we happen to lose, they're a pitiful franchise who will screw it up the following week and probably the next one too.

The Bills is a rivalry I respect. NE is just about a rivalry, because for it to have mutual meaning there need to be 2 teams in it. Here's hoping that's the case for the forseeable .

The Jets though, who honestly cares about them.

Pretty shortsighted here. The Jets lead the all=time series 53–48–1 and went to two consecutive conference games this decade.

I know what they've done. But they're largely irrelevant in their own city, irrelevant nationally, umknown internationally and manage a level of organisational dysfunctionality that almost make us look good. Among their decent recent seasons have been far more miserable seasons. There is literally no reason to be a Jets fan nor to hold up our having to play them twice a year as any kind of big rivalry.

We are going to beat the **** out of the JETS
    _

I hate the Jets, period. But instead of saying the above, I would replace the team mentioned to New England. The Patriots are the ones I would love to beat...and do so with gusto; over and again. As much as I hate the Jets, I hate the Patriots more.

(ALSO: The Patriots are a measuring stick, a benchmark, a shadow of how well along we (Miami) are in our evolution towards becoming a true league contender. Sh*t I hate saying that...it's true nonetheless.)

They're the Jets. Nothing is ever easy against the Jets.

That being said, their roster is just BAD. And I think a lot of people are going to beat the #### out of the Jets this year.

The Jets are, in my opinion, probably the favorites to be the #1 overall pick. The Bills, however, will be better this season now that they aren't being coached by the bozo buffoon brothers.

Gonna need to get those Ws somewhere.
