It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I am posting to let everyone know that my father passed away Wednesday night after a short, but hard fought, battle with cancer. My sister and I flew to New York on Wednesday to be up there for however long the final battle took. We had no clue that it would only be a few hours. Just glad we had the final moment with him but it was hard and he died after we left the house to check into the hotel. My final words to him was that it was ok to go to sleep and that I loved him. Dad was a day 1 Dolphins fan. He loved them so much and wore his rose colored glasses. Everything was always positive and we will get them next week. Zonk was his favorite player and a few years ago I was fortunate enough to meet him, at which time Zonk signed a pic for Dad. For me it was just a great joy taking dad to a Dolphins game year while he was living down there. He got to see Marino throw TD passes 300 and 400 and I even arranged for Marino to meet us in Augusta a few years ago. The funeral is Sunday followed by several days of sitting shiva. I am a wreck and the draft was one of our favorite activities. We used to chart players and do mocks. This year will be a tough draft. Please pray for us all as we transition through this process.
