Post-holdouts.

People forget that part.

Oh wait, this is where im told it wasnt "really" a holdout. Just like "preseason doesnt count oh wait yes it does!".

holding out and skipping a voluntary workout is not the same but you've been mixing things up quite a bit in this thread, so i guess you just dont know any better

What exactly did Wake and Jones hold out of?

Reshad Jones skipped the Miami Dolphins' organized team activities Monday in an effort to convince the Dolphins to start contract negotiations, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported. He planned to stay away from the entire week's activities.

Wake, who had missed workouts prior to the NFL Draft, signed a four-year, $49 million this past weekend, with a $20 million in guaranteed money to boot.

Nailed it.

And are you ever going to link those well documented reports? Or was that just "an opinion", thus can never be wrong?

1 blogger randomly making things up and an interview which you refuse to point me to the time where he said "Ireland=gone".

Highly impressed, just outstanding.

you assume wrong. IMO Ireland had an influence in adding Wake and Jones. whether he made the final call no one knows.

So then he also had an influence in adding Pat White, Patrick Turner, Chad Henne, Phillip Merling, Gibril Wilson, Reggie Howard, Jake Grove and Justin Smiley -- among others, to say nothing of players we passed on -- right?

You can't have it both ways. Either he's responsible or he's not responsible.

he may have had. hardly worth speculating over. we KNOW he extended Wake and Jones. we KNOW he added the 2012 and 2013 draft classes. we KNOW he added this year's free agency group. even if Ireland called the shots prior to 2012, there's a lot more good in those years than bad in years prior.

Skipping a voluntary practice is not a holdout. As Geforce even pointed out, Jones missed only one voluntary workout. You can't stretch the truth on this one, a holdout is when a player is staying away from something he is required to be at. Byrd in Buffalo is a holdout, Wake and Jones missing a few voluntary workouts is hardly a holdout.

Refusing to come to camp because your unhappy with your contract.

Not "really" a holdout. Got it. I also remember how ecstatic people when we had the entire time at workouts, even voluntary. But hey, that doesnt count. Just like preseason doesnt count. Except when we play well. Then it totally counts and extensions all around baby!

I do love this forum at times. The attempts people make to try and have it both ways is hilarious. Its like people live their lives entirely by their short term memory and any reminder of previous inaccuracies demands vehement protest. Just hilarious. Oh wait, those previous inaccuracies were "opinions" which can never be wrong. :sidelol:

laugh all you want. in reality, i'm the one laughing at your ignorance

Spesh and others list the better GMs we have had for the Phins the past 25 years. What GM is available right now and what have they done that would convince the fans on this site OT fire Ireland and hire your pick or picks.

The decision to extend Jeff’s contract as our General Manager was an easy one,” said Ross in a statement. “The young talent that Jeff has assembled during his three years with the Dolphins has made a profound impact on our franchise’s recovery from the 1-15 season of 2007.”

Ignoring the obvious "its not worth speculating if it was a bad decision", i'll simply ask(not that simply making a request has gotten me anywhere thus far, but you never know): was our owner speculating during that quote? Yes or no.

Miami Dolphins pass rush specialist Cameron Wake, who has been seeking a new contract, did not participate in Tuesday's voluntary minicamp practice. It is possible the former Pro Bowler could sit out more of the voluntary portion of the offseason program.

It's also possible the Dolphins are simply stalling to avoid the embarrassment of having a key player skip OTA sessions that are entirely voluntary and in part open to the media. Dolphins coaches hate players missing OTA sessions and minicamps. They view it as a distraction and coach Joe Philbin typically deflects questions about those players, saying instead he wishes to speak only about players who are present.

Two wrongs dont make a right. Just because previous general managers have failed horrible doesnt make Ireland good.

And at various times ive linked a list of potential general managers i was intrigued by. At the end of the day: who im interested in is fairly irrelevant. We know other general managers can lead teams to success. Colts found that out. Rams found that out. Why dont we try and copy what those teams are doing?
