He cut because he felt he wanted to change his image and by doign so he's decided to step up in his leadership role

I think part of the reason he cut the dreds off was to better cope with the South FL heat. I played football for awhile, and being out in that heat all day with a heavy helmet and pads absolutely kills you (I always felt like i was bout to pass out, lol). That may not be the reason he cut them, but thats definately a benefit hes gonna get from it.
