Why does the NFL try to monetize everything? So let's make it harder for dedicated fans to see our product.
If want to see my NFL team play it should available to stream for free on the internet.

Clearly, they do not see the bigger value in getting a larger base of Fans as a way to make more money in the long run.

The NFL does it because their statistics tell them that the money from people who WILL pay is enough to not worry about those who can't.

Not sure why people always harp on the NFL for not just giving away their product for free? Of course that means free if you have a cable subscription. As it is ther are 16 games games per week and ther are 6 free games available in most markets: Thursday night, Sunday night and Monday night and three day games on Sunday. Now in the NBA and MLB there are about 150 games per week and you're lucky if there are 15 games available in week in most markets. So one league makes nearly 40 % of their games available for free and the others are around 10% and yet it's the NFL that always gets pegged as greedy by some fans.

So making it hard is not giving it away for free?

Stop being entitled. There's plenty of cheap ways to see 'your product'.
