Now that its months after the draft what does everyone think about the Pat White pick? Will this turn out to be another waste of a 2nd round pick on a QB? Or will Pat White turn out to be a player? I personally didnt like the pick and still dont. I dont think he will run the ball better than Ronnie in the wildcat. I also dont think he will offer much as a QB.

50% of me thinks he's gonna be a player and 50% of me thinks he'll be a bust.
100% of me thinks it's way to early to decide anything on any rookie let alone one that is playing the most difficult position in sports.

I think he will be player who may even outplay Henne w/in a year....White looked better then Henne on Friday...only one day but Henne seems to be struggling w/ 2 min drills.

id say hes going to be a bust at the qb position. but id give him a chance to be a player if he changes position.

as far as a qb goes i think hes nothing more than a career backup at best. and id say that is a bust considering he cost a 2nd round pick. his only value is tied to the wildcat and when it goes out of style so will he

I think we need more than a few months and some actual games played to determine his worth. Let him play, see how he does, then make the call.

I know there are people that don't like the pick, but you can't just label him anything yet. He hasn't played a down of an NFL game and you have some calling him amazing, some saying he sucks...when nobody knows how he'll do yet.

Give it time first.

As long as he plays with the heart and instict he played with at WVU, we have ourselves a football player. As in a guy who can do anything from anywhere on the field. Whether hes a QB, a WR, or lined up at RB, hes going to go for the big play and while he may only score a couple TD's this year, they will be memorable plays. Just a glimpse of what he can offer to this team will be seen this season, I hope the coaching staff utilizes him to his full potential. I would love to see him flourish in a true QB but I'm not sure if that will ever happen, which I'm fine with, I hope Henne takes care of that.

If its any consolation, ive been playing as pat white in the preseason of madden 10 and hes been lighting it up with patrick Turner lol. No but for real he cant be a bust if hes a mid second round pick. I cant see any player drafter at his position being considered a bust. But regardless i think hes goin to be a good athletic player thats going to have about 10-15 plays thats going to work very very well for him that hes going to perfect.

:err: At WR or RB? Yes

At QB, the best I see for him, is a very good (to great) backup, while being a lethal weapon, in special formations. He is not the starter, that is Penny, and he is not the future QB, that would be Henne.

The same question could be ask towards Henne.

With each passing day, as White gradually improves, I feel glad that the regime drafted him as insurance.

I don't feel that White has the right tools to be make himself a starter. And as far as being a tool to use in Wildcat. it will only be a matter of time before it is busted up and will become an obscure play again. Yeah our team brought it back to life and had some success. But teams were already catching on to it. Besides the point man for the wildcat is still Ronnie. will having white in there make that big of a difference. Personally I can't see it. But I guess we will have to see how season plays out. As it is he is nothing more than a backup.

Just like every single run first QB he'll never be a talented full time under center QB. They never develop the correct tools to play the position.

They'll tinker with him trying to teach him the tools but in the end he'll be a Gimmick play specialist and P/T WR prospect. He'll never master either spot the same way other players in the same mold never did.

I don't think the Wildcat is going to have half as much of an impact on the NFL as some think either so in the end, for what White is hyped up to be he'll be a bust considering the position he was taken.
