Top candidates mentioned to replace Rich Rodriguez at West Virginia:
• Jimbo Fisher, LSU offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach. West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player of the year in 1985 and '86 as quarterback at Salem (where Rich Rodriguez later coached, '89)

• John "Doc" Holliday, Florida associate head coach/safeties. Three-time letter-winner at linebacker for West Virginia ... on Mountaineers coaching staff from 1979-99, the final season as assistant head coach/receivers.

• George "Duke" Henshaw, New Orleans Saints senior offensive assistant/running backs. 1967-69 West Virginia lineman; inducted last month into school's athletic hall of fame ... 18-year NFL assistant, including assistant head coach at Tennessee from 2000-05; offensive coordinator New York Giants, 1993-96; offensive coordinator Denver, '92.

:D

I'm hoping they don't take Doc, although I know he interviewed for a HC job somewhere else last summer so it will probably happen sooner or later.

I don't want to see Fisher go. LSU is like my 4th fav. team.

"Doc" Holliday interviewed for the Marshall job two springs ago. Personally, I wanted Holliday over Snyder for the Marshall job. It didn't happen. Holliday is a good coach and WVU would be well served to contact him.
