How Would Feeley Perform In Another System?

Anyone here think that Saban would've taken AJ if he was still the 3rd qb of the eagles? I don't. He inherited AJ.

No I don't, but I also hope he wouldn't have gone the Brunell or Warner route either.

He sure as hell would not have given up a 2nd round pick for him either. He did inherit A.J, and now it's looking like it's either his best or second best option right now.

This is why I think you guys will be shopping for a qb next season via draft or FA.

Saban didn't inherit anyone, he chose to keep AJ and must have seen something in him to not go after Garcia, Kurt even Brad.
You have to admit that the Offensive coaching staff was a disgrace never mind the OL and no featured RB.
The Bills have Lostman who threw 5 passes 3 incomplete and one interception and then broke his leg and according to justa the Bills don't have a QB problem.
Drew with ten years in the league has won playoff games( remember he won the game that got the Pats to their first superbowl win) and has been to the Superbowl couldn't make that offense work but Lostman he's going to make all work.
The Big Tuna didn't hesitate to pick D B to be his starter.

He did inherit AJ. He did take Gus didn't he? That's because Gus knows Linehan's system better than those qb's you mentioned. Why cut AJ if his cap won't break your back plus he wants to see if he can salvage AJ.

That's why Mularkey kept Drew to see if he could salvage Drew's career. After a year, he thought. no.

Link? Never said that. I admitted that our qb position is as unproven as yours but I like Jp's potential over any of the qb's you have.

Get your facts straight, JP WAS coming out of that broken leg he got from camp and not after making those 5 attempts :shakeno:

If you are going to use Losman's first 5 passes as a basis, check out Ben's first 5 passes. Almost identical.

Ben's first 5 passes as a starter(after 1 week of practicing w/ the 1st team) was also identical. :shakeno:

He won in the past. Did you look at his nos. in that Pitts game? Not as good as Brady's nos. Before you even look that far look at Drew's nos. in our run last year. He was average at best against crappy teams.

Yeah the Tuna also didn't hesitate to take Testaverde. How did that turn out?

And I honestly think that's going to come back to bite him in the butt. Drew Henson is more than a few years away from being NFL ready. Testaverde to Bledsoe won't be winning him many games if the Defence can't step it up.

Back on track. I really don't know if ANYONE would look bad in a NE system. Here's a question. How would Manning or Brady look in our system last year. Marino?

That's fine with me as long as A.J plays descent this season and doesn't lose games for us. I think Feeley will play very well next year, but you always are looking for that QB who will be the man for the next 12 years or so. I don't think Feeley is that guy but, I hope he is good enough to get us winning again.

I think Gus will be your starter.

But he was winning. With more experience his play will improve significantly. Look at the year Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl with the Ravens. All he was asked to do was manage the game and make the occasional deep throw to keep the defense honest. The running game and the defense did the rest.

My point is Feeley did well in a system that was supportive. With the experience he gained last season and the raw tools he has now, I see him being an adequete starting QB for this team.

Also, Philly did not have a good recieving co. when Feeley was there, it was tough for any qb to put up big #'s in Philly. They had a good system, but not many weapons at his disposal. Do you see where I am going with this?

Does anyone REALLY think we don't have the supporting cast necessary for AJ to thrive?? If not this year, then when??

Go AJ!!

I came across an interesting thought in another thread today.

How well would Feeley perform in another system say New England or Indy?

How well would he perform with a complete supporting cast on offense? Many people think A.J has the raw tools to be an exciting QB. Others think he is just average, a good backup. But consider the progress A.J made at the end of last season. The flashes of "brilliance" so to speak. The New England Game. The T.D pass after dislocating his finger. Does A.J have what it takes to be good or even great if he has the supporting cast, like the one he had in Philly?
Just Imagane him in a different uniform with a great system and team.
Flashes of brilliance? The Feeley threads here are just crazy.I want him to do well but as of right now i dont think he is even going to start.Feeley was ok at best last year guys.Brilliance i never saw.He had 1 great pass. He's not the future. He will be on the bench to start the year.I dont think Gus is the answer either.Next year we have to go after a good qb.

Notice I used quotations around the word brilliance. It was something I read from a camp reporter some time back. I can't remember who said it but it was a credible writer. How is this Feeley thread crazy? I asked a question about his potential.
