First let me state I've always viewed espn as "entertainment & shock value" and have never put too much stock in their on-air personalities' opinions. No matter which side of the "espn Dolphins bias" fence you sit on, this should shed light for many.

On espn radio"The Herd with Colin Cowherd" Colin was talking about how P.Manning needs to win the SB to be considered among the greats. And if Manning fails to win a SB in his career, it wouldn't be the same as Marino because Danny "carried" teams with little to no help. Basically what all of us already know.

Anyway, he then had Trey Wingo... gotta love that old J. Stackhouse & Wingo commercial. Trey was on the line and stated,

'you know Colin, there are still people in this building (espn)
in decision making positions who refuse to rank Dan Marino in the top 5 qbs.' Colin laughed in disbelief.

Again, we should never base our Dolfan existence & purpose on what that network thinks (most of them have zero cred IMO), but to those who feel there's no bias whatsoever you might want to rethink that.

Marino is top 2. I dont think anyone could make a very good argument otherwise. I through my aqua colored glasses, see marino as number one. No one could ever pass like him.

With my bias he is top 2 with a good arguement for 1st but if there are actually people who don't think he is top 5 they should never be able to report or talk about football on a network.

he's 5th or 6th best

Don't even listen to this guy. He's a joke. Everytime I'm on here he has something negative to say about the Dolphins. He seems like he's so concerned with not being a homer, that he has become a hater.

Owned!

Pure qbs marino is number one ...but....you have to give consideration to montana, young, namath, farve, and i know some are gonna hate this BRADY.All these qbs are very good and all but marino has the ring to prove it.some of them have multiple rings. And it does mean something to have won a superbowl, that cannot be discounted, having said that there were many that have won the big game who are not in any way top 5 qb's... I give you dilfer, warner, doug williams, brad johnson, phil sims, mark rypien.

Try this list........Marino, Steve Young, John Elway, Joe Montana, Payton Manning. And hate to add Brady, but he is good.

Namath...no way he sniffs the top of any QB list.

Realistically I'd put him in the top 5, fighting for spots with guys like Elway, Montana, Young, and Favre. I feel really lucky as a football fan, getting to see all those guys on TV, and with Peyton Manning on the rise. Generally speaking I'm happy with the entertainment value of the NFL right now.. Unhappy that the Dolphins aren't the cause for that entertainment. But seriously Dan is def. in the top 5, but with so many good QBs around his era, it's HARD to pick.
