I know it is early but here is what I think would be a great offseason draft/FA.

First, Plaxico Burress is the main pickup I think we need to make our offense more explosive. He played for Saban at Michigan St. and is going to be looking for a long term deal to sink his teeth into. I think it is very doable and we would have to show him the money to pull him away from Eli Manning and the Giants who will look to keep him there after there experiment with him. CC would be better suited to have as a #2 and he would be more open to make plays (or drop them).

Second, the Guard Hutchinson in Seattle. Also a very tough FA to pull out of there since he loves to play for Alexander, but Alexander will be expecting his huge well deserved contract. I think these two pickups would be outstanding and give Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams something to smile about. Our line would become stout and our offense would be very powerful in run and pass.

In the draft, LT would most likely be a strong suit for our #1 pick. I know everyone is clamouring for a QB but in all likelihood, by the time the draft comes around, Cutler will move up the charts to the point of undraftable for the phins or he will be available in the second round. If we were to get him in the second, we would have to move up to get him probably. Another scenario is to take a LT after trading down a few spots to get an early second rounder which would probably take some wheeling and dealing. A QB would most certainly be on Mueller and Sabans agenda. They will look at everything from all seven rounds to find a daimond in the rough if need be.

Everything else will be defense from that point on IMO. Saban will find LB's and CB/S's and maybe even a Phat DT to plug the middle. That to me would spell success and fill the seats (tough job to do). All this isnt just going to come from FA/Draft either. Saban will pick up guys who are cut or put on PS that they scout for "the system."

i thought plax signed a 5yr deal?......and hutch would be a amazing pickup he could get the tag though....and i dont think LT is a must for our #1 pick our line has been doing very well and this is a deep OL draft and we could still get quality talent in the 2nd or 3rd and be able to grab a nice defensive player like williams ngata hawk or greenway if we are out of leinart range and unable to trade up i wouldnt mind trading down a bit(maybe denver would give up the 2 1sts they have)and we could still get a good pick in mid round1(greenway huff landry bing ryans) and maybe snag cutler in late 1.

That is a great DREAM. Hutchinson and Burress (if he already doesn't have a long term deal) will have thier contracts extended before free agency starts. You are talking about two teams that are finally playing consistently good week in and out for the first time in a very long time. They will not let two young players who are playing pro-bowl caliber ball go. These guys will never get a chance to sniff the free agent market any time soon.

I like the idea of drafting a left tackle, but with the success of the offensive line this year, and their continual development under Houck and Davis; they may not see that as a primary need to upgrade that position with our first round pick becasue we do have a young developing offensive line. Frerotte has only been sacked 16 times this season, and the running game is averaging 4.8 yards a carry; which is top 5 in the NFL right now. Our defense is the oldest in the league; I like Greenwood, Daniels, and Roth right now; plus I look forward to seeing what Vickerson, Wright, Poole, and Mitchell can add to the team next season. I think we will have a chance to pick up a playmaker on defense with our first round pick. Offensive players will dominate the top 10 picks (which we won't be in this year). If Brady Quinn doesn't fall into our laps when it's time to pick, than I would look to draft one of these guys...DE Mathias Kwanuka, CB Jimmy Williams, LB Chad Greenway, LB A.J. Hawk, or DE Mario Williams. Then I would draft a QB with our 2nd or 3rd round pick.

I don't know too much about Jay Cutler, I hear good things about him; but just becasue he's the second best QB in the draft dosen't mean he's worth our first round pick (unless it's a late first round). If he wows everybody at the combine and at his Pro Day workouts, then I will have a change of mind and look at him in the first round, but right now; the defensive players I mentioned earlier are big time playmakers.

Burress....ehh.....NOT GONNA HAPPEN. He just got to NY, he not gonna get cut or get traded.

Hutch, we could be in the hunt for hutch, seahawk already have a bunch of money going to W.Jones and they have to sign Alexander, so they might be short on dough.

As for the draft, i'd like as big physical CB/S like J.Williams, and what the heck, trade our 2006/2007 2nd rounder for P.Rivers. I believe he's ready to step in.

If I were Hutchinson I'd wait until the offseason to sign a contract. He's gonna get more in an offseason bidding war than he'd get signing right now.

I dont think Lt is a big need. Were top five in the NFl in sacks allowed. There playing preaty decent. A qb, secondary, or lb would be more of a need in rd 1 imo. Hutch would be an amazing pickup. If we can get him do it. I also wouldnt mind having Julian Peterson come to town either to solve one of our lb problems. I would give Charles Woodson a look also.
