Hello Everyone!

Because the staff at FinHeaven is always looking for better ways to organize, and streamline the site, we've decided to re-structure a portion of it.
You'll notice that what was once the College| Draft Forum has now been split.
We've renamed the original forum to simply "College Football" and created a new forum called "Draft Forum". We are now in the process of moving threads around so that they are in the appropriate forums.
We've also created a new sub-forum within the General NFL forum, called "Free Agents".
We ask that you keep these forums in mind when posting, as we'd like to continue keeping the main Dolphins forum uncluttered, and pertaining to the current Dolphins team.

When posting, please keep these guidelines in mind:

Miami Dolphins - Please keeps threads related to current Dolphins players/staff etc here

College Football - Please keep threads related to current college teams/players/games here

Draft Forum - Please keep mock drafts/draft wish lists/potential draft picks, etc in here.

Free Agents - Please keep discussions about potential free agents here.

We realize that this may mean an adjustment for everyone, but we feel that in the long run it will make things easier for all of us. Not only will it make it "cleaner" and uncluttered in the main forum, but it will also make it easier to find the FA discussions, mock drafts etc...

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the Staff either by PM or by posting in the Questions and Comments forum.

Thanks in advance for your anticipated cooperation, and we look forward to an active offseason of improving our Dolphins through free agency and the draft, and an exciting 2006 football season!

See Vince Youngs game vs. Usc last night if we can get him we should:dolphins:

First of all, welcom to Finheaven.....

Second of all, i don't see it happening. He played awesome, but i'd be a little more convinced if i saw a little deeper passing success. Hes a great runner, but Im not sold on his ability to go down the field with his arm. I admit though, i havent followed the Horns this year. As everyone knows with Vick. Great running QB's out of college will take a pounding in the pro ranks.

Yea that was tough... The fourth and one play. I say it was bad play-calling. What they shoulda done is lined Reggie up, and had him push Lienart over the marker lololol :sidelol: j/k

 ... it did work when they ran that play though! :D

Raekwon...

Ease up and give the Longhorns their due...

Young is a project qb for the NFL. Now, that may not be a long project either and he needs work on his mechanics and his accuracy as you said. The USC D was horrible and really has been all season long. They are worse tacklers (in general) than I've seen in a top notch program in a long time...and they've struggled all year long. Young needs some work, but he's not exactly in AJ Feeley's class either. The weaknesses you pointed out are well known by pro scouts...Given that, he's still going to be the first or second QB taken....

My theory is that since Texas did win, he'll come out. He'll probably still be the first QB taken. Leinart might be more ready to start in the NFL, but has a much weaker arm and whoever gets him will have to adjust their offense to his weakness. He might be a good WCO QB in the pros tho. But back to Young, he's not quite as bad as you think he is.

All this said, I hope we don't get him or Leinart here. Either would be better than what we have, but not ideal by any stretch...

I actually never liked Rivers that much. I like Young more than Rivers...

As for Houston, to make sure we get David Carr, we could possibly trade them Damion McIntosh and eat his bonus. Get some use out of him and it works financially as Carr then signs a new contract with us...

Trading Up In The Draft

The mock draft at nfldraftcountdown.com says that the New Orleans Saints (I think it was them) should trade down because they have a lot of holes. I'm sure other teams at the top also would like to trade down because they have multiple holes to fill. Obviously, to trade down someone has to trade up. Is there any possibility the Dolphins would be one of those teams to trade up? The Dolphins could definetely afford it, being about $25 million under the cap in the offseason and I wouldn't mind seeing the likes of Vince Young in a Dolphins jersey (if he comes out).

P.S. I know QB isnt the only position we have a hole in so can no one give me a bunch of poo for posting this

we need to trade up

It would take probably way too much to do it. I'm actually in favor of trading down in hopes to take advantage of the talented LB/OT draft.

Well the 16th pick isnt gonna be the easiest to move down from. Im not saying we wont move up, however there might be quite a few other teams out there looking to move up as well who will have more to bait with.
