Our offensive ranks under Fielder

You must remember that back on those years Ricky was the No.1 Running Back on the league, Fiedler had nothing to do besides handing the ball to Ricky 40 times a game... And even there he sucked!!

Bah...until his injury, Fiedler was having a good season being an Aikman like QB who made few mistakes and made the completions he needed to.

STATISTICALLY it was his best season (and I think overall as well)

Gus is not a rookie so its not like he will continually get better in this so called new offense which supposedly he knew before he got here. In my second paragraph I was showing the main reason we were awful the year before.

In fact look at Gus's games from the first game this year to his last and there is no marked improvement. I think his best game was against Denver early in the year. The best team we beat this year was Denver. Gus was 24 of 36 in this game that we dominated. since then he has been up and down and mostly mediocre. There is very little logical reason to think frerotte will be any better in this offense next year. Against a poor Tennessee defense he was still only 14 of 30 for 150 yards.

Gus may not get much beter but he is developing beter chemistry with the receivers and the rest of the team will continue to improve the longer they play in this offense which will bring up the rankings you posted earlier as well as make Gus look beter. I am not saying Gus is THE ANSWER but he has definantly had somthing to do with the wining streak we are on.

Cris Carter was hardly on the team long enough to be a main focus of blame.

I don't like blaming receivers for drops most of the time, but that drop was among the worst I have ever seen. You almost have to wonder if he had money on the Vikings. I'm seriously pissed at Carter over that drop to this day.

Norv was a good coordinator. The playcalling late in the Patriots game notwithstanding, without Norv I doubt Miami puts up 378 points and 5500 plus yards on the year, nor has the second ranked rushing attack.

Norv was a good coordinator...when he had Jimmy Johnson to rein him in and prevent him from abandoning the run in the stupidest of times. He was not a good coordinator here, and he was not a good head coach anywhere. He ran an offense that did not maximize Miami's questionable talent at QB and was very much part of the problem. If Georgia Tech didn't hire Chan away, Miami would have assuredly made the playoffs in 2002 because his system was *far* friendlier to the QBs.

well two of those games he was knocked out of so I think that definately helped us win those two games. I still don't see the chemistry thing since he continually completes about 50% of his passes and started the year completing 66%.

I'll take Jay's 2001 season even with the higher INT rate that resulted from the lack of a good running game. When you consider that those games Ray Lucas played in 2002 killed the Dolphins, I think it's a no brainer that you pick the season when Jay played every game instead of the one where he only played 11.

Obviously I was referring to the games Jay actually played.

Blame Ray Lucas and Cris Carter (in addition to Norv and Wanny). Lucas screwed this team good when Fiedler went out, and there was no excuse for Carter dropping that TD in the end zone against his former team.
Things happen, they seem to happen at bad times...

but this year, I believe Mc Mike dropped a TD in the endzone either in the Atlanta game or NE game...

What would have been the difference if he would have coaught it too?

everyone is excited about our offence because of the last 5 weeks not because of our season rank. our offence has been pretty good over the last 5 weeks.

The offense has played well condidering that they are making an ajustment from one system to another.

One thing I noticed is that under JF last 5 games of the 2001-2003 Seasons, the O averaged 22 Points per Game, the O averaged 21 PPG in 2000...

This year in the last 5 games the O has averaged 25 PPG...

So in the first year under Gus we are as good as we were with Jay after he had spent a good amount of time in the system and had an established offense. Like I said, not bad for the first year.

Here we go again. NO actually this is a system that gus has been in for several years now. Add to that Gus was only sacked 24 times this year which is like 4th in the league and it shows just how well Jay played.
