Coolest Dolphin Player

Maybe I should have gone there....are the women just as nice? haha

oh don't get me started!

I taught an accounting class 5 days a week to undergrads, when I myself was still an undergrad. Lets just say- hot for teacher, isn't just a song. Too much fun I had to transfer - to UF for my grad degree. And nothing against UF, good school. Great athletics. But it doesn't hold a candle to UW-Madtown for an all-around good time.

That'll get me flamed here (lots of Gator fans, I've noticed) Go Canes.:dolphins:

Must be nice to live in Florida. Only been there once and I loved it! I live in Cali, I guess you could say...I'm a fish out of water. He he, ha ha.

curious how you came to be a Dolphin fan?

Dolphins v. Niners Superbowl. 9 yrs. old. My older brother told me about Football. That very day watching the Superbowl I told my brother "I like the team with the Dolphin on the helmet"

I love the Fins. Catch them whenever they come to Cali.

Went to the Bears v. Dolphins MNF game couple of yrs. ago.

I met Ronnie Brown at Strokers in Atlanta, a strip club. It was right after he got drafted and he was in there sitting at a table with a boat load of cash on it...He was real cool and excited about being part of the Phins.

Almost that way exactly. Worse yet, my girl was with me. Also a Marlins fan. I think she realized it, but wanted me to make an *** of myself, which is fine since she'll take me to strip clubs.

I went on how, dude, you are an outstanding player. Great work ethic. Great hustle. Brother was like, I'm just here to see the t*tties, man, but thanks. :goof:

You have much wisdom, grasshopper. this is an acceptable trade-off.

What an AWESOME story!

Zach is the man. I was 16 his rookie year and I thought he was great. So I wrote a letter to him telling him how glad I was he was playing for the dolphins and that I am sure he will have a great pro football career. Three weeks later I recieved a letter in reply saying "thanks for the support" and enclosed was an autographed rookie card. He is a class act and he will always be my favorite dolphin. I have the letter and the card framed in my office it is sweet

I know many of them well.

It's not even close who is nicest, friendliest & most fun to be around. It's Zach.

I've seen him get approached by some of the strangest folks. Some real weirdo-s. Some true goofballs. And STILL he treats them like his friends. I've asked him how he's able to do that. And his reaction = dude, I get $5 mil a year to do just what I just did. Great perspective attached to that thick neck.

Now his brother-in-law is great too, but I've seen him get easily irritated by some fans (as I would too). Junior is very friendly, but is always intense and tends to initimidate even off the field. Sam Madison is real cool - always joking around. Ricky, as strange as he is, is very interesting. articulate & smart. Marty Booker suffers just as much social anxiety as Ricky - betcha didn't know that. Chris Chambers is second to Zach, as all around nice guy, real fan friendly.

The only true prick is no longer with the team - I never liked Feeley, and most of the other players felt this way too.

My $.02 from being around these guys more than the average fan.

Couldn't agree more. I've never mentioned it because, well it's not important, but I'm a Music Producer and Songwriter that works with a LOT of big stars. A lot! So, I'm always finding myself hanging with Celebrities and the only ones that get me jacked up are the PHINS.

Last year, I was playing gold at Micoussoukee Golf Course in West Kendall with Jon Secada, Andy Garcia and Kevin Costner. We didn't realize that there was a tournament that day and that it was a Miami Dolphin sponsored event.

So we're at the second hole of the Jade course (I think) which is adjacent to the 7th hole of the same course and who do we see waiting to hit but Zach, Jason Taylor, Sam Madison and Terrel Buckley. Now Secada and Garcia don't watch football too much (I know) but Costner recognized JT right away. They came over to us as we came over to them and just chatted for 15 minutes straight.

I can't TELL you how cool Zach was! He was like a kid around Costner cuz he loved THE UNTOUCHABLES and Jason Was awesome to me. Just made me laugh constantly. He kept saying that Zach's new golf swing was so weird it made him dizzy and he called it "Homoerotic" cuz he has to wiggle his hips before he hits. Just freaking hilarious! I almost passed out in laughter.

T Buck wanted to be back with the Phins so badly, he said he would tak the league minimum of no other team wanted him but that he was pretty sure that someone would need him (I don't think anyone actually signed him thoug, and it made me sad) but he was hilarious. Madison was a terrible golfer but T-Buck and Jason were actually pretty good! Zach was homoerotic, but actually just missed the fairway with a decent shot, but he uses his arms too much. He's not the most fluid of guys!

I'll never forget those 15 or 20 minutes, it was great. So yeah, Zach and Jason, t-Buck and Madison were all great to me and my celebrity friends. I don't know if that counts or not, but it does to me! I have about 25 more stories if anyone is interested and MOST of them involve the nicest, coolest and best Dolphin of all time, DAN MARINO! He has just been GREAT to me over the years and always remembers me!

Anyway, GO PHINS!!

Zach Thomas gets my hands down vote. Yet, I've never met him. Please read this:

I was unfortunate enough as a stand out Sophomore linebacker to get shot in the eye with a paint ball gun. I'm not going to go into the details, but your eye is connected to a lot of stuff. I was told to never play football again, but I simply replied "Yes, I will play football again." 2 Surgeries and an offseason later, I'm playing football again. A guy from out of town, somewhere in Texas, approaches my mom (who is decked out in my number/picture... you know how mothers are lol) to compliment my play and compares me to some "guy" that played at Texas Tech (the same school this guy went to). He then said his name "Zach Thomas," well my mom freaks out. She goes on to explain how much I looked up to Zach, since I too was a vertically inclined linebacker. She then told the guy my story about my eye and everything. The guy said good day and that was that.
Fast Forward, a month later... I receive a letter from the Phin's Linebacker coach(at that time), I can't recall his name right now... Obviously, I was in shock that someone in Miami had heard about the story of a half blind short linebacker from nowhere, KY. Wrote back, thanked him... End Ch. 2.
Fast Forward, one more time about another month. I get another package from Miami. I freaked out, enclosed was a 8x10 of my idol linebacker Zach Thomas and to top it off it read "Charles, be best and stay strong" (was a powerlifter too). My Respect level for Zach Thomas raised to impossible heights. Zach Thomas is the coolest player in the NFL, much less the Dolphins. To say I was inspired by his message is very much an understatement.

wow that is an amazing story man. Way to prove people wrong and keep on playing!

I've found that the players are different each time you meet them. I've gone to team hotels for a couple years now and Zach has been cool. JT always signs, but he is usually in a hurry. The coolest this year has to be Kevin Carter. There were a few of us getting autos and pics from him in SD this year. Security comes over and asks everyone to go outside and stand by the ropes. Kevin says "No way man, I'm gonna sign for all of these guys right here. These are my fans!" Security backed off. That was cool.

Toss Up

I will always be partial to Marion, just becuase he is Marino, but also the 4 times I have met him he has alwasy stopped for a quick autograph or at worst a hand shake. With that being said I would say a close runner up in Brian Cox. Aside from walkin into Buffalo fingers a blazen and helmet on backwards, he was a very genuine guy. He was the guy out 20-30 min before the game signing autos for the kids. Miss ya Brain why did you have to play for the jets!?:boohoo:
