Merged: Ronnie Brown/Can He Carry the Load?

You can make that argument for EVERY player in the NFL. Just let the kid do his thing and see what happens.

No, I know Sammy can run just in case Ronnie gets hurt, can we all feel comfortable with Sammy taking the load??

I hope Ronnie doesn't get hurt though, let me say that!!

If Kay Jay Harris gets more reps behind Ronnie the running game will be fine.

Yeah, no doubt I like Sammy but can he be reliable?? That's all I was asking.

Why not? He's obviously more reliable than Ricky.

i really dont want to use a pick at RB, i just dont think that would be the best value for any of our picks. maybe a RB/FB tweener, actually i think that would be the best move.
Why not use one of our three 7th rounders on a running back? Why not take a chance on a running back in the very last round? It couldn't hurt.

We already have a good backup in Sammy Morris. Travis Minor is a decent backup and I really hope that KJ Harris will actually get to get involved in the offense unlike last preseason. I don't even think that he got 10 carries last year in the preseason and he mostly played on ST's. I'm sure that will change.

Nubs, any position is feasable with a 7th round pick. Running backs are probably the easiest position to find a decent backup. Look how many guys step in during every season. Don't forget about KJ, he's as good as any RB we would get on the second day and he's been in the system for a year.

Like Jimmy James said we still have to bring someone in to push Kay Jay for that roster spot.

Of course, of course. I just wish we had a shot at say... Bennet, who is now with the saints. Maybe we should go after Jesse Chatman again.

Unless, he has the masking agent......but, seriously I like Sammy he is solid, but now he may be able to shine more behind Ronnie.

We don't need another running back. we will be fine. Ricky did his thang on the field last season, but we are better off without him. he was holding ronnie brown back anyway. Sammy will be fine as the back up. and we still have K.J Harris, and Minor.

He did. He got a quite a few reps. He was practically one of Brock Berlin's favorite targets to throw to in the flat.
