RONNIE gets NO RESPECT!

he didn't "start" at auburn because auburn split carries with cadillac and brown.
I understand this but Caddie did get the majority of carries....THERE IS A REASON FOR THIS...

You go ahead and question his PICK!:tantrum: In 10-12 years when he has Hall of Fame numbers maybe that will be enough to convince you. Can't we as Fin Fans just embrace the players we have without saying their over rated or picked to high or "there's a reason he didn't start".:boohoo: wagh. I think I'll go puke now!:fire:

I do question the pick...I thought we should have traded down and gotten 2 picks from the vikes...I dont think drafting a player who was media hyped into the second position in the draft was a great idea. Also on the HOF numbers He has to stay healthy and have the ability to go 35 times a game for those numbers to happen...He couldnt even go 15 times a game w/o getting injured.

I dont question his talent. he is talented , he is fast (but rickys got him beat on hitting the holes and making people miss), and he does have good hands. I question his durability. I dont know why you people are so afraid that saban made a mistake. This is the NFL...Contracts are not gaurenteed...nothing says he'll be around forever, especially if he gets hurt again this year

Why does Ronnie Brown get no respect?
Some say Ricky will be the featured back for the Dolphins next year. So many are afraid to let Ricky go. Ronnie is good...he shown flashes of that...he will be better next year.

If Ricky is going to be the feature back it is going to be in Arizona, Jacksonville, or maybe Indy but it won't be here. Not by design anyway.

I seem to remember [and yes it is getting more difficult these days] in a few games when Ronnie was running to the hole and he hesitated before turning it on - I don't know if it was indecision or if he was committed and wanted the hole to get bigger [not], but for whatever reason, we need to see less of those. He did have some good runs though. I feel that in time he will turn into a good if not great RB and hopefully a HOF'er one day.

You could also see Ricky do the same thing when he first came back from his year off, and his four game suspension. He was getting used to things again.

Ronnie holding out, plus being a rookie played a big part in this I'm sure.

I thought both of them showed a lot of improvement thruout the year though...

Ronnie's not quite ready I think he really needs to watch Ricky and see how a Rb hit a hole because I think he problem was 1) He's a rookie.2) He blocked and catch too much because of Caddy.3) He needs to remember the GOLDEN RULE about being a Rb hit the hole hard, fast, and decisive!!!!!!!
That is part true about hitting the hole hard and fast, sometimes though...you need to give the lineman time to set their blocks....just watch Shaun Alexander, he knows how to look for the opening.

Ronnie is amazingly talented. He did fine in his rookie season keeping in mind he held out and it showed the first few games. It is great that we have both backs and we will run down peoples' throats next year. We will add a name lineman or two and that will make us even tougher. Schaub, I believe, was a dropback passer at Virginia and I'm quite sure he has the tools and coachability to fit in to the Dolphin offense. You guys that still question Ronnie Brown are unreal. The guy is a blazing fast monster with hands who can also block. What more can you ask for?

Actually Schaub ran the spread offense in college which mimics the WCO, however, he has a decent arm and can make the vertical throws. He can fit, the reason the WCO keeps getting brought up is that QBs traditioinally have problems reverting from the WCO to a more traditional offense. In the WCO the pass routes are based on the presnap reads. Both the WR and QB have to see the same thing or the QB throws to the wrong spot or not to the designated reciever on that play...(something I think Detroit has been struggling at). For some reason, it seems that former WCO QBs, particularly young or inexperienced ones have a hard time in adjusting to other offenses.
Think of Warner, Garcia and of course, closer to home AJ Feeley's struggles in converting...(in Martz offense, the basis is a WCO where the OL has to hold the play longer because the routes are longer than the Walsh/Holmgren/Marriucci version)...

No problem

I have no problem with Ronnie... I just think R&R is a very good combo, and if we can we should keep them, but thats doubtful.:dolphins:

He averaged a whopping 3 carries per game more. Ronnie caught more balls and averaged more yards per carry. There's a reason for this.

He missed 1 freaking game. Ricky missed 4 his rookie year and Caddy missed 2 this year.

Theres no point in aruging with someone over it, some are just really stuborn. Bottomline is people just want to write Ronnie off already because they believe Ricky is really that much better. If Ricky is better at this point, it's due to experience....thats it. They are two different types of running backs.

I'd agree with you... if you were right.

Ronnie missed 1 game. He started the first 14, missed a game, and played sparingly at New England.

The guy's a first round draft pick, and, was a OROTY candidate.

I think he gets plenty of respect.

Even if he doesn't....So what?

I think anyone who thinks Nick Saban is going to stake next season on Ricky not popping positive and being gone for a year is kinda high themselves.

Ronnie's going to get his touches, and, as he proves he can carry the load, and, hit holes with the quickness that he needs to, as well as getting a hndle on the fumbles, he'll be the starting back.

He may well be the starter this year if Ricky gets traded.

I only got to see one half and didn't notice Ronnie. My bad.
