Merged: Ask Boomer (No B.S. Wanted)

Boomer - what about linebacker Cameron Vaughn from LSU? Do you think he will get any consideration from the Dolphins?

Well he has ran a 4.7 lol not that there is really that much differance, Crowder rand a 4.7 if i'm not mistaken. But like you said the off field issues will be the reason he drops to day 2 if he does.

But Crowder sheds much better and doesn't get caught in trash so much.

Yeah for sure, but he needs work. Needs to get stronger and do a better job of diagnosis.

Hey Boomer and CK. Ive been reading this thread constantly since it got started, and I have to say I love your input! There are a few players Im high on that you have mentioned (if we land Cromartie or Lawson at 16, I would be very, very happy with our draft), but I was wondering about someone whose name has just started to surface a little bit on some draft boards. NC State DT John McCargo. I dont think we'll make a move for him, but teams in need of DT help like the Ravens have apparently considered him first-round talent. Im just wondering what your take is on him?

I got a few questions for you Boomer:

1) Do you see Ricky being traded if he wins his appeal? What do you think he is worth?

2) If Saban trades down, what do you think we can get?

Who are the better prospects?:

3) Holmes or Jackson?

4) Greenway or Simms?

5) Justice or Mangold?

Hey Boom and ck, quick question. If Miami decides to pick a LB with their first pick, which of the top LB's best fit into the Fins defensive system? Alot of people think that the Fins will pick Manny Lawson, Ernie Sims or Chad Greenway, but what about Bobby Carpenter?

Boomer, Saban says he will take the BPA regardless of position at 16. If this is true who do you think the BPA will be in that spot? I know we don't know who will be picked ahead of us yet, but out of all the guys everyone is speculating on who do you think will be rated the highest? I would think one of the WR's or Greenway.

Thanks for the comments. McCargo is certainly one of those late risers who might end up in the top 40. I think R1 is too high for him, but considering the buzz around him, I wouldn't be surprised. I think the Ravens pick is 3/4 of a round to high for him, but you just never know how a team is going to stack it's board.

Beauty, after all, is in the eye of the beholder.

1. Ricky is worth a 1st rounder. He's one of the premier backs in the game, the best back on our roster and worth a first rounder. I don't think he'll be traded and we certainly wouldn't get a 1 for him. He's just too valuable to this team.

2. Well a trade down depends on how far the team up is trading. I would think worst case scenario you get a 2 and a 4 or a 2 and a 3. Best case, you get a 2nd rounder and a 1 next year.

3. In my opinon Holmes. More complete, better suited to our offense, better blocker, better route runner, more consistent.

4. Greenway to our system, but the ceiling is probably higher on Sims, who is more of a WLB, although he can play the sam.

5. Justice, but they're players at different positions, so it's difficult to call which would be more valuable.

Greenway is the ideal fit. Carpenter can play in or out, but 16 IMO is a little high. Lawson would be fascinating as he can play SLB or with his hand on the ground at end and casue all sorts of problems. Sims is a little undersized but can play the am and the will.

To be honest mate it's an impossible question to answer. I don't have a clue how he's stacking his board and until the picks go off ahead of us, you don't know who will fall.

Hey Boomer, great stuff youre putting out here. My question is simple, which former b-ball player has more potential, Ed Nelson (Uconn) or Jai Lewis (George Mason)? What are your views on each?

Boomer/CK. I was wondering if either of you would/could give us a list of 3 or 4 players in each round (top 4) that Miami may have on there radar?

boomer, know anything about this?
