Which QB will be the new Beast in the East.

You will debate anything won’t you? :) Ask yourself, how many seasons have there been from 2001 until now? The Jets were in the playoffs in the 2004-05 season on Jan.8 2005. It’s been one year and 3 months since the Jets have made the playoffs; that’s also one season. The Dolphins made the playoffs in the 2001-02 season on Jan. 13 2002. The 2006 season will not start until September, so there have been only 4 seasons (#1. - 2002-03, #2 -2003-04, #3. - 2004-05, #4. - 2005-06) since the Dolphins were in the playoffs. It has also been 4 years since the Dolphins were in the playoffs. There are 12 months in a year, and the Dolphins were in the playoffs in the 2001-02 season on Jan.13 2002.

It's been 1 season and 2 years, I don't count 2005 as a playoff year it was the 2004 season and now we are in 2006 so we have missed 1 season and it's been 2 years and you have missed 4 seasons and it's been 5 years. When Pittsburgh won it they were not the 2006 Champions, when they played SDenver it was not the 2006 AFC Title Game it was 2005 they just played it in 2006. It's not like the NBA or NHL where the seasons are split among 2 diff years. This year in the NBA or NHL is the 2005-06 season while last year's NFL was just the 2005 season.

Oh and it's been 5 seasons and 6 years since your last playoff win and that one you can't debate since the playoff game was in Dec.

Give it a rest. Any knucklehead knows that when you say something hasn't happened in X years in the NFL, you are referring to seasons, not calendar years, fiscal years, rolling 12 month periods, light years, leap years, dog years, or anything else. The implication that the Dolphins haven't made the playoffs in the last 5 years (seasons) is wrong.

It's been 5 years since your last playoff season, yes we know it has been 4 seasons but it's been 5 years. I don't say we made the playoffs last year b/c it was 2 years ago.

Would you say that the Jets haven't made the playoffs in 2 years?

Did you read my post? the one you qouted says that. Yes it's been 2 years since we made the playoffs- it's now 2006 and our last trip was the 2004 season. Even if we make it this year it will still be 2 yrs btw trips so wile as of today it's not a full 2 years by the time the playoffs roll around it will be.

Did you read mine?

How many years (seasons) has it been since the Patriots won the SB? If it has been more than one, name the teams that have won it since.

And if you still think it has been two years since the Pats have won it, how many years has it been since the Steelers have won the SB?

The Steelers won it LAST YEAR, they are 2005 Champs not 2006. The Pats last won it 2 years ago.

So the Steelers won it a year ago? Hmmmm.... seems to me like it was only a couple of months ago. Man, how time flies.

Let me try one more time.

How many seasons have passed since the Patriots won the SB? The answer ONE. How many seasons have passed since the Steelers have won the SB? ZERO.

You do realize that the 2006 season hasn't been played yet right?

This latest line of argument by nyjunc is hilarious.

It has been a year since the Dolphins have played a game....damn it...what the hell happened to this season? :sidelol:

It is not a big deal to me whether it was 4 years or 5 years since the Dolphins made the playoffs, but you are incorrect in saying that it has been 5 years. The Jets were in the playoffs on Jan. 8 2005. Yes, that was during the 2004 season. You already said it has only been one season since the Jets made the playoffs, so why do you not agree that it has only been one year since they made the playoffs. Seasons take place towards the 2nd half of the year in the months of September thru January. That is why some people call them the 2001-02 playoffs or the 2002-03 playoffs Ect…Ect… The Jets made the playoffs on Jan.8 2005. That was during the 2004 season. There are 365 days in one year. Today’s date is March 29th 2006. It has been 446 days since Jan.8 2005, the date the jets were in the playoffs. That’s one year, and 81 days. The same goes for the Dolphins. You already agree that it has been 4 seasons, so let’s look at the dates. The Dolphins made the playoffs in the 2001 season on Jan. 13 2002. That’s 1,540 days ago, which equals 4 years and 80 days. I hope that now you can see that it has been 4 years since the Dolphins were in the playoffs.

It does not matter if it was Dec. A year consists of 365 days. Just because the calendar says Dec. 30th 2000 does not mean two days later on Jan.1st a whole year has passed. Again, there are 365 days in a year. The Dolphins beat the Colts on Dec 30th 2000. That’s 5 years and 88 days ago. There is no debating that, it is a fact.

So let's say the dolphins open up the season w/ a win over Puitt- will they be 2-0 in '06 or 1-0? They did win on jan 1, 2006 so w/ your logic they would be 2-0?

read my posts I said it's been 2 years since we made the playoffs but we only missed during 1 season just like it's been 5 years since you made it and you missed 4 seasons.

The '05-'06 playoffs are called the '06 playoffs. The steelers are not the '05-'06 Champs they are the '05 Champs.

The difference is there will not be a playoff game until after 5 years has elapsed so you can call it 5 years now as there is now way you can have a playoff game by 12/30/06.

Yes, the Steelers are the 05 champs. Has it been a year since they won that game? The great thing about a calander is, that you can take a date such as (01/13/02) and go all the way up to today, and find out how long it has been since that date.

If you are going to count the 06 season like it has already been played, and presuppose that the Dolphins are going to miss the playoffs, then you would be right. I don't count seasons that have not been played yet. If the Dolphins make the playoffs in 06, you can't say that the dolphins have missed the playoffs for 5 years when the 06 season would be the 5th.

Yes, the Steelers are the 05 champs. Has it been a year since they won that game?

No but we are into the next season, I consider '05 last year even though we haven't started the '06 reg season yet.

Again it's 4 seasons and 5 years regardless of what Miami does this year.

Does this really matter? I am presenting it to you guys the way it is normally presented. We all know what we are trying to say so let's move on:D

That’s the first thing that you have said in a while that I agree with.:D
It is hard for me to believe that most people see it the way you do, but it is not a big deal to me, and I am ready to move on. Now, back to whose better, Pennington or Culpepper?
