I know that we have been saying this for two years now, but I think that this will help our chances of getting to the superbowl.
In my opinion, Ricky is the best all around back in the league. He can catch, run, spin, juke, jump... he can do anything you ask... For that reason, teams will stack eight, maybe nine in the box. All linebacker, lineman, and sometimes a safety or dimeback will be focused on Ricky. If we perfect the play action pass, throwing to McMichael, Chambers, Thompson, and McKnight will be that much easier. We were starting to perfect this strategy until Fiedler got hurt. By the third or fourth quarter, the opposing defense will realize that they are getting killed in the passing game, and they will focus on that, which will lead to ricky running wild at the end of the game... Even if its 6 people in the box, Ricky and the Oline should be able to handle that.... Remember, if each lineman picks up a man, and so does konrad and mcmichael, than Ricky will most likely be matched up with the middle linebacker or a strong safety alone, which Ricky will win almost every time... I really hope that Wannstedt and Turner notice this...
Also, I wanted to add something about how New England is going to a 3-4 base defense... On the last game of the year, do you remember how Ricky kept beating their guys on the sweep? I think that was a deciding factor on why they changed to the 3-4. Now Ricky will be able to run up the middle easier... something that he was hard to do against NE in the games we played them...
