**Official CBA Thread II - Update: Owners Approve CBA!**

Is hard to wait but is worth the wait if it gets done....I can't believe that Gene is so stupid as to say they were offered less money...he's twisting things around....the % would have been lower but of a bigger pot in whice they'd have made 1.5billion more than in the past for the next 6 years....as always the players are the greedy ones in my mind...let them go find a real job like you and me and see how they like it....anyway, I hope it gets done.

Ozzy rules!!

where did you hear or read that Mort report?
checked espn.com no such comment

About midnight on Sportscenter he reported it with Stu Scott.

Wow, Mort is now reporting that they have a deal in principle and that they will use the next few days to work it out. I heard this on ESPN Radio. Anyone else hear this? Or is just a rehash of what you guys were saying about them agreeing on the 59%?

Your right, I can't believe someone so stupid is in charge, and holds so many things in the balance, and controls your life, my life, and countless others, when someone so smart is right here in the forum.

let them go find a real job like you and me and see how they like it....

You sound a littler bitter, did your application for Players Union President get overlooked?:boohoo:

Just for fun... here is a snippet of what Dr. Z wrote about this 2 weeks ago...

"Looming over the NFL is the specter of the uncapped season and the expiration of the current collective bargaining agreement. I say looming, but it's not as if this thing were waiting to happen within a week or two. It's more than a year away.
Club officials are calling this a crisis situation, but in my gut, I have an odd feeling that a scenario is being played out here. Company unions always have made me nervous, and that's the way I read the NFL Players Association. The fact that Gene Upshaw and Paul Tagliabue have been going arm and arm through life does not give me the warm feeling that others read into this relationship. I've always preferred any union to which I belonged to at least maintain a certain wariness, if not a downright adversarial relationship, toward management.
I might be totally off base ... this is just an uneasy feeling, mind you ... but I get this sneaking suspicion that this crisis is somewhat contrived. I see a last-minute settlement and hurrahs all around. Good old Tags, good old Gene, buddies again."

have you broken a leg, torn an acl, got a concussion, seperated a shoulder, etc. at your "real" job? do people at your "real" job tend to die at an uncommonly early age? players work hard, put their health on the line, and mean enough to you for you to be here talking about them. you should show them some respect.
