Cardinals | Team pushing hard for E. James signing
Sat, 11 Mar 2006 11:59:06 -0800

Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports the Arizona Cardinals are expected to push free agent RB Edgerrin James (Colts) hard to get him to sign a deal before he leaves town.

This would be huge for the Cards if they sign him. Now they will need to bring in some good OL's to help make holes for him to run through.

would he want to go to the cards? its gonna be like the colts good offense bad deffense.
They have some good talent on that D, like Berry, Rolle, and Wilson.

Arizona is up and comming. I honestly expected them last year to compete in that division.

Here is a updated story on Edge from PFT.

JAMES STILL IN 'ZONA

Running back Edgerrin James stayed in Arizona through Saturday, and he's attending the Phoenix Suns' game on Saturday night with Kendrick Clancy and Milford Brown.

All three visited with the team on Saturday, and Clancy signed a four-year, $8.1 million deal.

We're told that the Cards plan to make a big push to get James under contract, even though coach Dennis Green recently said that the team won't pursue any big-ticket free agents.

Cardinals are a franchise running back and quarterback away from being one of the Elite teams in the NFC.

I've been high on the cardinals since the drafted Fitzgerald. With a good draft, watch out for them in two years. Maybe even next year.

Cards are going to win their division next year.Don't quote me on that though :p.

If they get Edge they can make a serious run for a Wild Card spot next year in the NFC!

they're going to be in a new stadium next year. lots of expectations. signing edge will make the fans ecstatic. it'll be a great story.

That will be a loaded offense. Just think if they draft V. Davis for TE.
Should address some O-Line issues though as well.

Exciting offenses bring in the fans and looks to be the priority in AZ. Should be fun to watch.

Defense will definately need some help up front though.

As good as Edge may be... I just don't see him having any Pro Bowl type year behind that Offensive Line... the only good lineman they have are Leonard Davis and I guess you can consider an inexperienced G in Elton Brown... but last year they had a DT (Wakefield) starting at RT for God's sake.

There starting RT Oliver Ross is average, nothing too special.
I don't know, I just don't see Edge or any back staying healthy for 16 games behind that line.
