Brees Update On Espn News

Yeah I think it's a way to try to pry more money out of the Dolphins. See if the Dolphins try to give more $$$ than the Saints offer and if we don't, he'll just sign with the Saints. Might be wrong but that's what I'm smelling.

I feel bad for them too, but quite frankly they are not going to be a contender next year so they should be building with young players. Brees really isn't the right fit for them. He supposedly wants to play for a contender.
The Dolphins are a veteran laden team on the rise. It is a perfect situation for him. Signing with the Dolphins makes long term career sense for him.

They have already caught a big break at our expense. They got 2 first rd picks for RW.
It's time for the rest of the league to do them a favor. The Phins have to approach the offseason with a single mindedness....win, win, win
 
It would be great news to finally get a top notch QB know matter if it is Brees or Culpepper. Haven't had one since Marino.

Brees and Culpepper are not "top notch".... they're good, but I think the only QBs in the league right now that could be considered "top notch", I hate to say it, are Tom Brady and Peyton Manning...Brees and Culpepper are only viewed as top notch to us because we are in need of a QB
 
Anyone know what offer the Saints gave Brees? I thought they had a lot to offer considering they were in great cap shape.

one rumor was $40 million over 5 years, the other was a $20 million over 2 years(guess they still want to draft Leinart)
 
i think brees would sign for a little less knowing he has a great chance of going to the super bowl with us than N.O.. plus i feel if we sign brees,maybe the dolphins will sign david given to give brees another target. once we sign a QB saban will start signing free agents. it also would be smart for us to pay more $$ on the back end,not too much guarenteed at first cause he is coming off his injury.
