If we could sign Brees and Hawk somehow dropped to the bottom half of the top 10, I'd love for us to try to trade up and draft this guy.

He just had a very nice interview on Cold Pizza. He ran a 4.38 at the combine - that's top level WR speed; and had a 40 inch vertical!

Of course, Hawk is far more than just a "workout warrior." His productivity on the field was phenomenal. Big hitter; sure tackler; and an absolutely rugged player.

To top it all off, he was asked who he tries to emulate with his game. His answer? Zach Thomas.

He'll be a stud for the next 10-12 years. I know, realistically, the odds are heavy against such a trade up or that we would really have a shot at him. But, you could plug him in at any LB slot immediately. Wish we could get him ...

I agree, this kid has been nothing but amazing. I hope to see him on Saban's defense.

No chance

AJ falls to us.

Little chance he falls out of the top 10

Maybe he isn't in the top 5.

This is dreaming along the lines of, maybe Matt Leinhart falls to us.

I just saw his combine video a couple days ago when Mayock was speaking of him. Holy crap, his field drill performances were sick. So were Ernie Sims. He'd be nice at #16 too.

as being on of his friends here at OSU and coming from his rival HS, i let him know how much us fin fans want him, even though it wont matter.

AJ is a very very nice guy and IS an absolute beast football player.

He was great for Ohio State the past 4 years.

However i think it is very unrealistic that we get him, like a 1% chance to be honest.

From what he tells me, if he is there when Oakland picks, that is where he will be heading.

He doesnt care how bad they are he is just happy to have a chance in the NFL and he says he can help a team turn around.

just thought id share a little info

Sounds like a stand-up guy. I never really did understand players being upset about going to a specific team. Kids like me would kill just to have an oppertunity a the NFL.

No chance we get him unless we trade up to 7th or 8th. That would cost us our 2nd and 3rd and we need a DB. I think there is a possiblity Chad Greenway will be there and if he is it would be hard to pass on him also. His 40 time was not too good but he is a solid LB. I still think unless AJ does fall to us we will take Jimmy Williams, CB from VTech. He has the height and run support skills Saban looks for. I see him being our 1st pick. JMO

It would be helpful if you learned to read. The post said, if he fell to the lower half of the top 10 (for example, that would mean, 8-10; oh, and that would fit with your statement, "little chance he falls out of the top 10"), and we traded up (that phrase does not mean "falls to us" in case you were wondering if it did) to get him - similar to the rumors that had us trading up to get Cutler at 8-10.

Not saying it would happen.

Beat me too it.A mod can delte my post.I didn't think anyone posted it.AJ will goto the saints if they dont get a QB.

actually his sub 4.4 was at the ohio state pro day, the combine he was at the 4.7 range... just to clear that up...

but any team in the NFL would love to have this kid, but its not gonna happen, on use even hoping for it... and yeah if the saints get brees, i can see them taking either AJ or mario who were both physical specimens and should be great players...
