Since the begining of "Brees" talk, I have been a HUGE supporter! But I think I've had a change of heart...

Brees's slight holdout for the $10mil, may be a blessing in disguise. First of all, he's not worth $10 mil, especially since we really haven't seen what he can do with a bum shoulder. Shoulder injuries are the hardest to come back from when it is your throwing arm. Plus, he's kinda short for an NFL QB.

Daunte is a Florida boy, who would LOVE to play in Miami (from what I gather). He's a big 6'4" and can scramble like nobody's business, when he has to. He shines when he has good recieving targets ie: Randy Moss. But we have Chambers, McMike, etc. who have all proven they will come down with the ball when it's anywhere near them. He's coming off a knee injury which is easy to recover from compared to a shoulder (my wife has had her knee rebuilt and told me of the two "go for the guy with the bad knee") Plus, just the sheer fact that Daunte was "our second choice" says to me that he will come here with a point to prove, and an axe to grind. I think Culpepper is our man!! I think being a Dolphin will be a rebirth for his career!

Brees is starting to give me a bad hunch, kind of like a Brian Greise, Damon Huard, Ray Lucas flashback.

both are injured
i dont know if either would be good for the team

they want big money
and both have major injuries

i think we should look somewhere else

Where? Unless there is a secret QB farm somewhere that I don't know about, there aren't too many options out there. We are not picking in the top 5 of the draft, and frankly I'd rather not wait the couple of years it might take for a Lienart, Young, or Cutler to get aclimated to the pro level. They both have proven track records when in the right sceme, and as for injuries, Id take the bum knee over a bum shoulder any day. There are a ton of NFL players doing well after knee surgery. Can you name any QB that played to his previous level after shoulder surgery?

Although I don't want Miami to give up a second rounder for Daunte, I'm done with Brees! 3 plus days checking the computer. "Deal, tonight!" , " Deadline at midnight" ," Phins give brees till tonight then look to sign Daunte".......I'm sick and tired of all of it, let the spoiled little can of damaged goods go and float in NO. I have always liked Daunte's arm strength and at least even though he is 2 years older with a bum knee, he still has a cannon. Look at Marino, he had more leg braces than anyone to date but still got the job done. I'm in Screw Drew!

Everybody take a deep breath . . . and read the latest threads - now John Clayton says that no contract talks took place today at all because Brees spent the whole day being examined at length at 2 different medical facilities in Miami. There was another poster who said Brees had supper tonight with Saban and Mueller before heading back to Birmingham to continue his rehab. (NOT to NOLA.)

The talks will happen Tuesday. Clayton, who said all night that talks were going on, has now completely contradicted himself. So don't blame Brees and don't blame the Dolphins, blame the stupid media!!

It's hard to wait and not know what's going on, but I'll trust that the team doctors and Saban know what they're doing. I doubt one more day will kill us :D

Plus, IF it's true that the Dolphins have been denied the medical reports on Pep, then no trade is gonna happen there anyway. IF - because it's the same media saying that who have been misrepresenting this whole Brees negotiations also.

at 12:01 A.M. if he hasnt signed trade for culpepper, who wants to be here. he grew up a fins fan and has always wanted to play here. He is the better qb to begin with

Culpepper is a fragile, fumbling crybaby

god help us

bingo. if there are any people who would jump all over a CUlpepper bandwagon i believe the live near ralph wilson stadium. just cuz brees is taking a little while to sign doesn't mean it should give you a bad hunch. its a big investment in a starting probowl qb. those sorta deals don't happen everyday you know.

when culpepper is on...that ***** is ON..and has more raw physical talent than brees

im down for either one honestly, but like the OP said daunte is a florida boy...and would LOVE to play for us....brees is looking for the best deal possible which i don't blame him for, but my bet is on the guy that is dying to come here.

both are vast improvements over what we've had since marino and we are lucky to have a real shot at either one...

i pray we get one or the other...

DC is going to be harder to sign than brees, plus the vikes want a 2nd rd pick. He has also fired his agent and is tring to work his on contract.
