MERGED 2X:How about Harrington?\Harrington to be cut\joey cut

I don't see Saban wasting a high draft pick on a QB since we have few draft picks to begin with and he needs to use them wisely. I see a QB of the future probably drafted in the 2007 draft when we have all of our picks to use.

I think we should just draft a qb with a 5 or 6 round draft pick. If I were to pick Tommy Maddox and Joey Harrington, I would pick neither! Both of them would do horrible. Joey throws too many interceptions and Tommy cant throw good passes! :shakeno:

Let's not forget that whatever quarterback is brought in will be a back-up. Harrington and Maddox certainly aren't Pro Bowlers, but they wouldn't be bad back-ups. And yes, while Maddox played poorly against Jacksonville, let's not forget he was playing against a 12-4 team with a great defense, and it's not like the Steelers got blown out.

I would definately rather have Harrington over Maddox. But he would probably too much money. And I wouldn't want Harrington to affect us getting Arrington or Peterson.

maddox knows mularks from pittsburgh and i think maddox is a better fit in the offense + a round 3 or 4 rookie qb would be good

I believe that Joey harrington would be a better fit for our system than touchdown Tommy Maddox.....why you may ask. Because he is younger and his pride is shot...and saban and marlarky(sp) can mold him and build up his confidence.....and the flip side....maddox was terrible in his last chance to play with the steelers. I honestly believe that if we can get one of theose OLB(LAVAR OR JULIAN) i BELIEVE THAT JOEY SHOULD BE ON THE RADAR!!

Go Saban:dolphins:

There is one big "but" with Harrington...he is a WCO guy (both pro and college)...he is a Tedford product (can you say Akili Smith, Blake, AJ Feeley, etc). At any rate, the WCO QBs tend to have a tough time re-adjusting to the vertical offenses. (What has Garcia done since SF ??) It has to do with the route tree and the keys for reading the defenses..they are not the same and it seems that most WCO guys have a problem re-adjusting to other offenses...Given that, I see Oakland being a big player for him if they haven't signed Brooks...

Joey may be a pretty good addition as he has started for three-plus seasons in the league and appeared to be progressing up until this season. Even this season, his QB rating was better than Gus'.

A change may be good for him and it's possible Miami would be an ideal situation for him to improve his skills while giving us a reasonable insurance policy for Daunte.

Dont want either of them but if we do get 1 of them my vote would be for Harrington.I would rather have Kerry Collins or Brian Greise backup Culpepper but Collins would want to much money and i dont think Greise would come back to Miami.

No way Nick goes into the season with Lemon & a rookie QB filling out the 2 and 3 spots. So two things are secure IMHO:

-we sign a vet FA QB
- we don't draft a QB, unless its to take Miss Cleo's spot

I agree with you. We need experience behind Pepper. If we draft a QB it will be to groom. More like a 7th round pick.

Joey would bea great back up QB and with the right coaching and system will once again be a starter in this league. He would be an awesome insurance policy for Daunta and would regain his confidence at the same time. If we could nab him with a low three year contract and get him ready to play we could probably trade him for a 2nd day draft pick in the next year or two.

Detroit seems primed to release him. I think we can get him cheap if Oakland fails to show interest. John Clayton said recently in ESPN insider that we are going to take a look at him in addition to Brian Griese.

My wife had an affair with a guy who was a big Harrington fan so I would have to say NO!!! If he came to the Fins I would be really upset

Why are you still with your wife. You should say no to your wife not harrington. It wasnt harringtons fault for your wifes infidelity..

Seriously...
