Merged: Madison vs Allen stats last 5 years

does he have good speed? enough to hang with the #1 guys? if not we better find a #1 CB, I like Daniels but he's only a #2 guy with his lack of speed

He has GREAT speed. Probably in the top 10 as one of the fastest in the NFL.

His passes defensed ranks kinda high league wide.

On one thread they said he was running the forty in 4.29. I know when he was coming out of college he was a top 2-3 corner in the draft and when at Syracuse he was a big playmaker in the secondary and returning punts and kickoffs for TD's.
sounds good, Allen and Daniels starting with Poole at nickel

I don't know who will start but I think we have 5-6 people going to fight hard for it and may the best two win and the other three or four fight for those nickel and dime positions.

Count on Daniels playing the nickel.. Poole will shine in camp. Poole will be our #1.
Poole has good talent but not ideal speed for a #1 guy

Well, we'll see about that.

If it's not Poole then it will be Allen.
I'm not going to count out Daniels and Thomas yet though. The days of press coverage and alot of man to man is gone. The players that get to where they are suppose to be and make plays and limited mistakes will start. Meaning Daniels and Thomas already have the head start as far as knowing the D.

Thanks for the stats. I think the biggest stat of them all is their ages:

Will Allen, 27 years old.

Sam Madison, abou to turn 32, April 23.

Those are a big difference. Madison has been solid for the Dolphins with a couple of great years. But, he has been very inconsistent of late and has been a much slower player.

I agree. And Will Allen should be a better fit for Saban's system.

I think it will be Allen myself

Oops, what was Poole's 40 time?
4.47, guys like Chambers and Moss who are the #1 WRs a #1 CB would cover run in the 4.3s

good post, we will be playing the zone mainly

will allen is killing madison in speed and tackleing and also in age. but on the sid and oj show on the ticket this morning they were ROOTING on allen. sayin he is garbae, that in NY he couldnt cover a single reciever, always getting burnt and couldnt catch a cold. and i havent really kept a close eye on allen to argue against their points. but can anyone back that up or make an argument against it?? is will allen worth the money we gave him? and is he an upgrade for us?

I don't care, I post at alot of boards w/ Gint fans and I know a million of them not to mention I get to watch Allen weekly. He's not good and a downgrade from Madison.

Just think, why would the Giants pay more for Madison and let Allen go if they thought Allen was good?

because they are dumb...because he doesn't fit their system...who cares what THEY think. Only Nick matters here and HE thinks it will work...good enough for me. Juncy, your point of us "embracing" every acquisition we make as an upgrade doesn't work any more. Nick really IS making upgrades, if not at the top, then the bottom. You are a good debater but your ammo is getting short, comparing what's happening now to what you are used to seeing no longer applies. This isn't the same ol' Dolphins Juncy, and your fear is apparent...
