Anyone else think the NFL should put TWO games each week on Monday Night Football, one in the Eastern Time Zone and one in the Pacific so they could start each game at a more reasonable (earlier) time?

Seems to me this would benefit TV ratings two ways; 1. more people will watch the whole game if it ends earlier, and 2. each coast will be more interested because its a "local" team to their time zone.

I'd love to hear what you guys think about this idea, can or could or should it ever happen?

so you don't think that people on the West coast would be extremely pissed that a game is starting at 4 or 5 pm their time........that's even if ESPN would broadcast both nationally..........

nevermind, it's just not a good idea at all.

Actually it looks like there will be one of those this year. ESPN has a contract for 16 games. BUT there is no MNF game on the last week of the season.

They are thinking about doing a double header.

The game starts at five or six on the west coeast now does'nt it?

It starts at 6 out here on the west coast right now. I think ESPN is moving the kickoff to 5:30 starting this coming season though.

Yeah...Thats great for us east coast people. Some games last till 1 AM over here...

That would be very interesting! It would not be as special every week if there are 4 teams on MNF tho

I think this new stuff sucks. Pro football should be played all on Sunday and one game on Monday. I enjoy spending my whole week looking forward to watching football all day Sunday and I dont want to watch it any other day of the week.

70% of the country lives EAST of the Missisipppi BUT they ( the NFL and the Networks) cater to the other 30% of the counrty.
Some games don't end till close to 1.

I hadn't heard that they there was any plan to move up the times. If I lived out there, I wouldn't like that at all. Imagine trying to get to a MNF game that started at 5:30 or earlier?? 6 has to be bad enough.......so why move it up?

I agree. Though, I do enjoy the Saturday AND Sunday format that the Playoffs bring.
