i think that it was probably the best option available but we had chances in the beginning of free agency to sign a big time center like bentley or mawae and we blew our chances

i have to agree with you on that. I am a little disappointed on how we had the opportunity to get other guys. We could of gotten a guy like hartwig but never did. We were supposed to upgrade the position this year and it seems unlikely now up to this point.

I can't say i'm excited. McKinney did improve but he still isn't very strong. He improved drastically under Hudson Houck last season so I am intrigued to see how much better he can get.

i agree he did aprove and is decent. i would of loved for us to have looked in mike flanagain the c for the packers he was a ufa but i like seth and he is also verstile so it was nice and we dont have to worry about that pos. any more.

No offense buddy but we don't WANT anyone who played on that line last year lol

I am very disappointed he is back. I think the guy stinks. Saban could have brought someone else in and it would have been an upgrade. He better not be the starter next season. I think the big reason he is back is because no other team wanted him. If he was in high demand, he would have signed quickly with another team when free agency first started. Even Houston didn't want him and his brother plays there.

I am undecided he did improve greatly last season, but he has had a sucking streak, I hope he cotinues to improve though.

I dont like him he commits alot of penalties unless he's working on his discipline I dont like him....... I think they gave that boy to much money 5 million for 2 years plus almost a million for his john hand****

get out of here seth go wash dishes at Shulas Steak House

This is like taking your sister to the prom as your date. This bites hard.

I think Seth had his best season last year and who else are we gonna get anyway? I think he improved a lot with HH as his coach...he's smart and makes the line calls...I also think that Hadnot is better as a guard than as a center....I think this way we don't need to draft o-line in the 1st tho we can still do it but is not a must....I think we'll probably draft a guard or a center like in the 3rd or 4th round but our o-line is pretty much set now.

Ozzy rules!!

I remember Seth filling in for an injured Jamie Nails at Left Guard in '03. Sometimes "ok", sometimes a turnstile in pass pro, and simply no push ever in the run game.

More of the same while starting at Center in '04. The best thing he could do was pull and get upfield, but once he got there he didn't do much.

But, he improved noticeably under Houck in '05, esp. in pass pro. Run blocking is still an issue tho. Kind of reminds me of Tim Ruddy in his latter years... "ok" in pass pro, but in spite of being a strong dude in the weight room, he can't translate it onto the field in the run game.

Bottom line: this is not the last OL addition this offseason. Seth will have to compete to start again, and this was a reasonable, essentially 1-yr deal.

I didn't vote because I don't feel the options fit the circumstances.

The 55 of you who voted yes either have short memories or are just being homers.

Like I said, you can call it misplaced faith if you like, but I have never felt as absolutely confident in a coach's choices as I do with Houck.

I don't normally think any coach can do no wrong, but with Houck I come close.

If he thinks Seth can help us, then I am happy to have him back.
